I share lots of day in the life family and mom vlogs. Today it's a little bit of everything around the house and on the go. Homemaking is best done with a happy heart.
Why Did I Wait So Long? Homemaker Day in the Life
Fudge Sundae Pie
1 c. evaporated milk
6 oz. chocolate chips
1 c. marshmallows (mini or large)
1/4 tsp. salt
vanilla wafers
1 qt. vanilla ice cream
pecans
Combine first four ingredients in medium saucepan and cook over med heat until everything is melted and thick. Cool. Line deep pie plate with vanilla wafers, then a layer of ice cream and fudge. Then repeat icecream and fudge again. Top with pecans and sprinkles. Freeze. Remove from freezer 15 minutes before ready to eat so it can soften just a bit to cut it. This was very good and I will definitely make the fudge again and simply pour it over ice cream and add toppings. It would be much easier than this. However, the presentation of this ice cream pie is over the top.
Vegetable Beef Soup with Dumplings
2 lb. beef stew meat
1 large potato, diced
half a green pepper, chopped
onion, chopped
1-3 carrots, sliced
3/4 c. celery chopped
1 c. chopped cabbage
salt and pepper to taste
Cook meat covered with water and seasonings for about 1 hour or until meat is tender. Add vegetables and cook them until tender. Add more water if necessary. For dumplings beat 1 egg with 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 c. milk and enough flour so the dough will run off the spoon slowly) I think I added at least 1 cup of flour, maybe more. Drop into slightly boiling soup. When you stir and they float to the top they are done. Serve. This got better as it aged as most soups do.

I love your cookbooks. I have both and they are both in my top 5. Your Crusty Mini Loaves are a big favorite. The bran sticks really do take it next level . My two 10 year old granddaughters love them!

Oh my. I’ve always had a career outside the home where business attire was required. Being newly retired, I can’t even think of any reason that would cause me to even put chapstick on my lips! Lol Haven’t worn any makeup in months and don’t plan too!

I bought the laundry sheets, I'm glad they have Fragrance free. I'm allergic soap. AND ALSO I order the strainer to make applesauce, tomato juice/sauce, and cranberry sauce. Now I also can make raspberry and blackberry jam with out the seeds. ❤ thank you for everything.❤

I have found a great way to cook your venison
Use your bundt cake pan
Put all of your ingredients in as well
Bake jn oven for 2 hours and keep checking it

Love my aprons. A neighbor questioned me about them once ( 'Do you always wear an apron?') and it made me laugh. Thank you for the reminder about the bran bread...I saw a box of that cereal in my pantry a few days ago and couldn't remember why I bought it. So glad you were able to make the ice cream pie! We always have to double the sauce ...chocoholics, apparently. Everybody likes to have extra to drizzle on their piece. I'll make one for Mother's Day this year for Hubby to remember his mom. And if I can find some gluten free vanilla wafers, I'll make one for my daughter and her family. She will remember the many family occasions when her 'Gammy' brought out one of those special pies after one of her wonderful meals. Love your idea to just make up the sauce separately, very smart.
On days I put my apron on rarely does it come off until after supper. It's a clothing saver for sure.
Joe has grown into a man right before my eyes. That blue will look great on him. You look great and make cooking look so easy. I have been in hospital lately with pnemonia and i think it was a good 6 eeeks off feeling eeak as a kitten. This week is better but i am requesting prayers still. I never want to be sick as this again.

Some of my favorite movies to watch are the Love Come Softly series, i still laugh and cry at the first one. Hope they will be a favorite of Maria's for years to come.

May I kindly suggest that you find a better angle to videotape yourself if you're going to put make up on while you talk to us? Maybe bringin a few books on the counter and prop the camera higher.
If you're going to show yourself putting on makeup you should put the camera level with your face because looking up your nose is definitely not attractive
