First Ride on the 2021 Suzuki GSXS 1000 // Tackling the Harewood Hill Climb 💪

I was very kindly invited to Suzuki's UK launch of their revised GSXS 1000!
Where were we riding? Up Narthhhh of course in the Yorkshire Dales!
So the days plan was to ride around Yorkshire and enjoy the countryside AND the Suzuki GSXS 1000 and then hit the Harewood Hill Climb in the afternoon... HOWEVER, the weather was playing ball so we did the Hill Climb first in order to beat the rain 🌧
That meant that my first impressions of this bike was being thrown onto the Hill Climb instead of breaking me in gently.
I do like situations like that though, you have to really adapt quickly to the character of the bike 🏍
This video is just of the Hill Climb and the road review will follow when I have the time to edit the video 😊

@@UsernameKate Thanks Kate. I'd had a little test ride at Suzuki, Lincoln and whilst I was thinking about it I watched your review which captured my emotions of that first ride. It was a big decision as I would have to sell my exciting GSXR750 and my very able SV 650. I got the demo which is a grey one. It's as ugly as a box of frogs but I love it. A good horse is never a bad colour.

Is sounds phenomenal for an inline four, even with the standard pipe. Black is certainly the best colour, if only because the horrid black headlamp shell isn't so noticeable compared to the other colour schemes. Deffo one to test ride. looking forward to your road test.

What an awesome little circuit, it looks proper technical, and not very forgiving if you get the line wrong being so narrow, AWESOME STUFF :-)

What a great place....It's just like the back roads I ride.....except you don't have to worry about oncoming traffic.

Very jealous of the bike media you have in the UK.
Here in Oz, we get nothing like the coverage.
As for the bike, that thing sounds incredible. Suzuki really seemed to have spent some time developing the exhaust note

Suzuki is pretty smart. They found the most cheapass track they could find to rent with so non existing straight and pit bike corners. So that the people testing their GSX could never tell what they are actually riding :D A 50 cc pitbike would be 10x more fun that GSX around that track for sure. :D :D :D

So, you came with a 1000 cc, super bike derived, old school naked to a single trail and had some fun. Despite everbody is picking at Suzuki, why there is nothing new coming, something they seem to have done quite right with that old thing, because that hillclimb is not usually thought as the natural habitat for a bike like this.

Good watch ! I would love to see the lap times of you and chopsy, to the untrained eye (mine) they're pretty close. So S1000R or Suzuki ? both different bikes. I think the one you sell for a living is better equipped and costs about £3k more but the Suzuki is a very able tool and for the price not to be sniffed at ! Thanks for sharing

Hi Kate, except for quick shifter and maps, which I know they’re not peanuts 🥜, did you find any noticeable differences between this knew gsxs and the katana you tested some time ago? I recently bought the Katana and I would like to know if (according to you) it should be possible and worth upgrading it to this configuration, overwriting the ECU… In the end the hardware is the same, I think (except “switch equipped”gear shifting lever).

Nice riding girl! Bike sounds great, looks like it goes great, just looks terrible. I still don't get those hideous grey painted bikes everyone is doing these days
I've watched a few of your videos now, And I keep wondering the same thing.
Why do you have your hands so wide on the grips? it looks like half your palm is on the bar ends. It really stood out to me again when you were talking about how you were riding the clutch on take-off and showed how far away the lever was.
I have always two-finger clutched and braked, I use the bend in the lever as my contact point with a narrow grip on the bars and this also helps with rev-matching downshifts as the lever only has to move a small amount to allow the gear change.
Anyway.. Just something I noticed.

Fantastic, first to second under load is seamless, no exaggeration.
Ah sorry, low rpms - yea it's not bad at all, it's really impressive (but it's better when the revs are up 👍)
