Update - Air Layered Cherry Blossom
Prunus x yedoensis 'Akebono' (Yoshino Cherry)
Revisiting a Cherry Blossom tree that was created by air layering a large branch from my cherry tree. Previously shown in April while in bloom, this tree has been severely shortened to get it down closer to a medium-large bonsai size. The true shape of the tree is not yet apparent. I hope that when the nebari (or surface roots) are exposed when I repot the tree, it will become more clear what form the tree might take. As noted in the video, I think the tree is still too tall; the proportions of the trunk are not correct, but I am hesitant to take any drastic decisions before I see the nebari.

Hello, does the tree bear fruit or just a flower? 🍒

This one doesn’t have any fruit. The blossoms completely fall off after a few days. I do have another tree with fruit that I want to make into a bonsai.
