What a criminally underrated channel! Why has TH-cam never recommended you to me before?! Binged over an hour and a half of your stuff today lol. Thanks for everything! You’ve given me so much inspiration at the end of this season as I’m getting burnt out
Thanks Baker FX! Over the moon that you've found the channel so helpful! I've had a lot of fun making all of the videos, even though it's a lot of hard work too. Hope you've managed to take a well earned break by now...before a new season starts and we both repeat the cycle all over again 🤦🏻♂️🤣!
syncaila didnt for me as portrayed in this tutorial. I am on a trail version, but it didnt export the xml file. It says "The sequence is limited and adjusted to your license terms" Heartbreaking
Thanks Bing Bong. I've never used Resolve myself but it seems to have become very popular in the last couple of years. FCPX can sync long clips reasonably well but can't cope well with anything less than around 20 seconds. I shoot lots of short reactions shots so Syncaila has been a lifesaver!
Thanks for this video! Pluraleyes has been a nightmare since the software was acquired by Maxon. I own the plugin but new users have to rent through a sub model. And my copy of Pluraleyes is frequently (like today) kneecapped by poorly-implemented DRM. I wish this could be an NLE plugin instead of standalone for numerous reasons, but if it works reliably Syncaila may already be the best syncing software!
i find syncaila difficult, it doubles my audio tracks for some reason and theres no way to see in my editor which clips are synced and what isnt. At least plural eyes colored the non synced clips so you knew if something didnt sync correctly.
@@quickpickle I should mention I purchased Syncalia around the time of my initial reply and have been happy with it. It isn't as perfect as the review suggests (it misses the occasional "easy" clip) but for me it's been a slam dunk: I make a timeline in premiere with cameras seperated out, export the xml, and when I bring the output back I'm getting what I expect.
@@Galgomite I use davinci resolve, used to use premiere pro which plural eyes worked perfect for. Unfortunately plural eyes doesnt work well with davinci either.. im stumped because I cant find a decent software which can line up multiple camera clips for davinci. 😣
Good presentation and I am interested in that software. I have found that the final cut pro native app does not work all the time. I wish you would say a little more about the workflow - you're certainly not going to edit that whole ceremony in the exact order that it took place - don't you want to Cut and paste?
Hey Ignacio. Do you mean zero audio at all, or just without separate recordings from dedicated audio recorders? It can still sync all cameras by using audio from the internal mics on each camera...as long as there are some common sounds to match up across each file. However, if you have no audio AT ALL, you would need to look for a "visual match" manually and this could potentially be a long and time consuming process, depending how many shots you need to sync.
I have a camera that's not being recognized by Syncaila. The audio waveform is visible and audible in FCP, but when bringing in the FX6 footage to the sync software it doesn't see a waveform of any kind. Any advice?
Maybe same as other syncing softwares but this doesn't work well when you're making instrumental electronic music videos. For example if a song has the same beat in 3 areas of the song, Syncaila will think it's the same spot of the song and just sync it all to the first area of the beat, since instrumental electronic music has the exactly the same waveform with the same beat regardless of which part of the song it's playing.
@Camera Geeks I've used Syncaila a couple of times now for two different projects; seems to work pretty good so far. I was wondering, in the "Sync Settings" I see a checkbox for sync by waveform and another one for sync by recording/modification date. What would be the difference if you unchecked sync by waveform? Would it be any better or worse if you only checked the sync by recording/modification date ?
Syncing by waveform will always give the most accurate results. If Syncalia was struggling because the volume levels were too low to analyse, having the option to sync by recording / modification date would be a great fallback...as long as you make sure your cameras have been set with the correct time and date. Hope that helps! Ben
I need help I have 2 shows where even if I change the fps to 25 I'm still out of sync Even if I manually fix a part it becomes out of sync in another the language is in French originally in English I'm trying to add back the English
I don’t think this product is better than Pluraleyes. I edit with Premiere, that could be the difference. I recently had to rebuild my computer and I’ve lost Pluraleyes.
This software isnt as good as plural eyes for syncing. I tried it on a wedding which had multiple clips and it synced maybe 20% of the clips. Plural eyes synced around 95% of them.
Wow....really surprised! I've used it on around 40 weddings and some recipe shoots too. It's been perfect for me every time. Maybe contact support at Syncaila and see if they have any advice?
@@CameraGeeks Thing is i found plural eyes to be more successful with difficult audio where the source isnt as clean. I had high hopes for syncaila but it just wouldnt line up the videos right and there is no option to color clips which havent synced. To be fair though i use davinci resolve and I think that might also have something to do with it... ive heard the davinci xml files are a bit buggy with syncing software.

Definitely something for me to look into, great video and simple to follow, cheers Ben.
Thanks so much for this video! Helps a lot. Also this is so much less expensive than the other option you mentioned.

Would be great to have such a piece of software on the iPad!
Nice...Things I never knew existed. I find resolve good at syncing but I'm normally working with just a few tracks. Thanks!

Will this work good for a feature film? I don’t need multicam

Great video! Very helpful so far. Is it possible to sync video from different angles if you dont have audio recordings??
