The Secret War bundle is excellent value for $35, and that series has such eye-catching covers.
I would have bought those Warren magazines, they are increasingly hard to find, especially in the high grade that Joe's copies appear to be.
The early X-Men issue is definitely the pick of your purchases, Angelo.
Joe patiently explaining Todd McFarlane and Jim Lee to the lady who asked about the same guy doing the pictures on the book as doing the pictures in the book . . . then at the end, pay attention!
I am not a real Batman collector, but 1200 for the 2 books is very good. I really must go to one of Joe's sellings, because he has really good prices, but 9 hours by plane is separating us

For BA12 and Batman 181, he already had them marked at the current lowest prices, and then knocked off 28%. Yeah, that’s a deal.

I always enjoy Joe's sales. And I definitely would have bought those Batman issues and had that Poison Ivy cleaned, pressed, and re submitted. You picked up some nice Spider-Man issues too.

What's the #1 thing to look for to tell if comics are lower grade? During the video, you were able to distinguish between two copies which was the better and lower grade instantly...

Batgirls 8.5 and batman 5.0 is a great deal for $1200 and if I had the money I would Crack clean and press submit and double my investment.

Great Video as always. I would love to go to the tent sale this guy has. Looking for high grade high numbers from the X-Men and Spectacular Spider-man are on my list. You really should announce when this guy is having a sale. Maybe have a show the day before or after he has his sale. You might draw a big crowd. Fall is definitely the time to go to Florida. A few things, I'm not aware of Newsstand Copy of Batman #1 from the New 52 existing. I bought mine at a LCS when it came out. I'm pretty sure Newsstand copies were long gone by then. Before very careful buying low grade books from the Copper age and later unless it is a big key like ASM 238. Comic Book stores were everywhere in big cities for the Copper Age. High Grade books should be common place for everything from that era. Low grades sell but how much profit???

That Batman 181 is nice. I need to dig up my raw copy and have a look at it again but I'm pretty sure it's a bit lesser condition than that 5.0

I think the two books for $1200 were overpriced quite a bit at the marked $1600 combined price. When he reduced the price, it's just about where they are selling at currently. This guy is no dummy.
The 8.5 Batman Adventures 12 is about a $475 book. One sold at auction on E-Bay a week ago for $405, so the $475 price may even be falling. You have to ignore the stupid asking prices people are putting on books on E-Bay. No one is paying it.
The Batman 181 is maybe an $800 book right now. There have been recent sales of 4.5's of $600-$650 in the past couple of weeks. I think a couple of 5's sold at auction for just under $800. A CBCS 6.0 sold 3 days ago for $810. Which CGC still carries a premium over CBCS, so it would have went for more as a CGC 6.0.
So a $1275 asking price for the pair is probably what the books should have been price at to begin with. And for buying both at once, he's knocking off $75 or accounting for potential further erosion of value. $1200 isn't any kind of deal on them. With a small amount of leg work, you can replicate those purchase prices at other dealers; its not a one time deal too good to pass.
In all honesty, I wouldn't pay more than $1000 for the pair. If they would only bring $1200 on E-Bay, he would pay $180 in fees. So $1000 cash in hand, will put the same amount of money in his pocket in the long run. And if you needed to liquidate quickly for some reason, you might get most of your money back.
Batman adventures 12 in a 8.5 is worthless imo. There are so many high grades of those books anything under 9.4 is not worth buying for that book
