The pence copies were not discounted prices, that was the exchange rate at the time. The T&P stamp was Thorpe & Porter, who was the British importer and distributor of American comics. I bought those Atlas comics off the spinner racks in the UK in 1975. Not many of their comic range reached 4 issues. Nice pick ups you got there.

God I wish I could find a garage sale like that. So jealous. There were so many comics there I'd love to buy, and prices all seemed pretty good.
You're definitely tugging at my heartstrings with those Charleton horror books. I actually have the issue of Ghost Manor that is the first appearance of Doctor Graves. Great comics. Awesome haul! Wish I could have gone through those dollar boxes.

Charlton's for a buck each?? Sign me up for that! I remember going to a store when I was a teenager and they had the entire run of that original Secret Six for a buck each. So I picked up the run for a buck each. They had a lot more great stuff, but went out of business before I had a chance to grab them. Great pick-ups!!

Nice to you see you pick up more titles from other publishers from the Bronze Age. There's not a lot of love for Charlton and Gold Key titles, but they are very tough to locate in high grade. There are collectors who do look for anything Steve Ditko and he did a tremendous amount of work for Charlton in the 70s. A bit of an acquired taste, but there is something mystical about his horror covers. I've never even heard of Pine Comics, what a unique find!

I saw what looked like an Excalibur #1 in one of those dollar bins i woulda scooped that up. Cool video.
Yeah I saw that too. I have a couple copies already so I left it for someone else. Great book though! Especially for $1!

Charlton Comics must have had odd distribution areas...didn't find many in the many collections I bought in 1970s and 1980s...the Ghost series had nice covers...the Mandrake comic was distributed in a three pack when I was a kid ...used to see this book a lot along with Flash Gordon and Phantom In mint shape put in those packs, probably had leftover warehouse copies. Atlas comics were such poor sellers used to see being wholesaled for 2 cents each in big quantities back in 1980s.

Not sure if you’re saying that’s what I did, but once I’m done filming I always tidy up the boxes and leave them better than I found them.
Proper comic etiquette.
But I agree! I hate when people leave comic box is a mess when they’re done digging through. It’s so easy just to push them back and make them look presentable.

Yes bro....its funny but not really kids like what kids like...my son is 10 loves miles , moon girl and devil dinosaur, of course X-Men, older spider man....but ... 80's Alpha Flight...and you pulled some out very cool ,..man i collected the big stuff when i was younger.
But like his Alpha Flight...when i was a kid i liked infinity inc. And suicide squad lol

How often does this seller have one of these garage sales?
