Concert Toms might be a bit uncool these days, but adding one as an extra piece to your kit can open up a world of possibilities!
Just watch me play around sloppily, and you'll agree!

78.....ordered a Ludwig SS kit with 4 concert toms, 18" ft, 24" kick. Still play it. Cannons!! Love it.
I can picture it now, and I bet it sounds huge! Haha

I would but none available in the U.K. currently. 20 years ago I just missed being able to buy Simon Phillips’ old Artstar - the whole kit! Not sure where I would have put it but damn, what a thing!
@@funland108 Yeah, they're a bit of a rarity, I was lucky to score the sizes I did in Aus.
You need like a 26” ride with those toms - they (the toms) sound so gloriously huge!

Has anyone ever told you your rack tom is mounted upside down?
You may think that, but it's originally a 14x14 floor tom, so there's three sets of holes! (Rare for this series)
If it was 14x13 the mount would be higher.. haha

Otherwise it's an original Artstar, and a Star Reserve snare.

@@THHDReviews new stuff is phenomenal Ludwigs have a thuddy articulate low end no other drums have .as there maple. Ludwig knows Maple better than anybody. I think they make the best maple shells in the buisness
@@robertdemaree2165 I have only played a couple of modern snares, but all the kits have ranged from mostly 50-90s.
Their older build quality wasn't as good as Rogers, but their sound was legendary!
Premier made some classics too, we got heaps of them in Australia.. haha
