I have Abasi’s in two of my guitars and honestly, I don’t know if I need anything else, pickup wise. They just do everything so well.
I was just looking for a video like this lol. I've got the Tosins in my 8 string. Super easy to use and definitely dont have to fight with them, they just work. I just ordered a 7 string with the moderns and was curious how they compare

Would you recommend these over the Moderns? These seem to have more of that fullness of ye olde EMG81, which I like. Every other demo for the Moderns make them sound a bit hollow. Great but lack that little bit of "oomph".
100% Tosins over Moderns. I dont get along with the moderns at all. I dont have to fight the Tosins. Moderns have good low end, I just like the mid EQ on the tosins.
So the first guitar you're using voice 1 and 2 because you couldnt fit the 3rd one on it? Im asking because I was thinking of getting abasi tosins installed in my ec1000fr but wasn't sure if it could fit all 3 or if I'd still be okay using the 2 voices only.
I just didn't have time to install it. You can get voice 3 on your EC. You can either put it on the push pull pot or wire it to a 5 wat switch. Also for this demo the moderns don't have voice 3 so I thought it was pointless to include it.
I have an ibanez rga42fm 6 string guitar and I have a 5 way switch some say that i should get the tosins as the fluence won't work with all 5 positions in my guitar, can you confirm that?
The tosins would work with a 5 way switch. WHen you say fluence do you mean the moderns? Moderns only have 2 voices. Tosins have 3.

@@jerveman not necessary to route for battery. You could probably put the battery on the actual cavity cover. I did that when installing piezo pickups on my PRS that wasn't routed for actives.
@@terran236 I got the pups from the Fishman website and installed them, but I had to drill the internal cavity to fit the wiring harness that came with it. ...It was worth it , though. just go at a slight downward angle - ...I made a drill-burn mark on my body but it's just a Harley-Benton guitar that looks LIKE a genuine epiphone les paul. The Tosin Abasi pickups offer such a nice distortion and variable tone - I chose the 3-knob wiring diagram offered on fishman's website, so one of my knobs is currently a ghost-knob, but I don't really need it and probably wouldn't want to use a 4th knob anyway. I can't stress how jaw-dropping the tonal variance is with these pups. ...GREAT product. just take the battery out when you're done playing (the only downside). or get the USB charging port on the back of your guitar , if you're an avid active pup user (unlike myself). currently playing slash pickups stripped from my buddies epiphone after he bought the signature Seymour Duncan Slash Signature Set and didn't need the ones that came stock in his Epiphone AFD Slash signature model (in or around 2014) been playing them for over 10 years?
