I ordered one and it will arrive tomorrow but I'm not sure of upgrading it cause this is my first redcat rc truck and I'm not sure how to disassemble and reassemble. I will upgrade the shock absorbers but that's about it but I'm not sure if it's worth the money to get a brushless motor
Love my V16 and mine brushless hobby wing 16bl30 esc and 2440 4000kv motor and oil shocks and wheel bar and redcat v16 upgrades metal spur gear metal diffs and center driveline and front and rear metal axles alittle more money but worth it and got all but motor and esc from redcat. Its my go to rc truck right now even put some 1/16 e-revo proline trenchers wheels on it too. And great video love the sticker part music. Lol

I can confirm that they're a lot of fun, especially with a wheelie bar (available on Redcat's website) and a proper 2s LiPo

The SH1602 handles the brushless system ok..... definitely worth a try.

I had the TRMT-10E back in the day. I loved it. I have a volcano, too. Mine has rockets on it. Haha. I need to revisit that someday.

Hmm. The chassis is still plastic, and there’s no center diff. I’d have to re-engineer the drive line.

I haven’t had the Teton, but I did have the LaTrax rally and wasn’t a fan. I definitely prefer the Redcat.

They need to make money somehow. It’s cheaper to take an existing platform and make it your own than research/ develop/ design/ market an entirely new product. It’s like that in every industry.

It’s 2.4 ghz. I’ve never had a range issue with this truck. It uses a flysky system.
why do all companies always wanna copy HBX16889 Chassy, the 'OG' one
Cheaper than R&D in a brand new platform. It’s a way to make money to fund “ground up” builds. Every industry does it. Cars, appliances, technology, even the food industry does it.

It's not the best idea for an r/c company trying to improve their name imo. Probably won't see tekno doing it or even arrma and traxxas. Team Associated does it with their 1/24s but that's just really a quick cash grab from a passing trend.

Well it got pretty wet from all the snow and slush. So far so good. The SG 1602 got soaked and it was fine.

The brushless version is $160 on amazon and the brushed version is $130. You’d get this one because it comes with two batteries and you like the monster truck look over the truggy look.
You’re not paying more for a name, but you’re definitely getting a better warranty / customer service from Redcat

These things are absolutely dog water. The motors get any dirt in them and they eat there bearings. The esc's are incredibly cheap made and the steering servo is as weak as a 3 day old kitten. Is it good enough to bash and survive? No. If you upgrade it will it survive? Yes. But by the time you spend the money upgrading it you might as well got a mini e revo an called it a day
Seen the Over Priced $400 Drag Camaro From Losi yet? don't even come with a battery and has a Ugly Ass Seam behind the rear tires. At $400 they should have included the Telemetry Radio but didn't.

I haven’t seen it, but most drag races don’t allow telemetry. Idk if it’s worth $400 or not. Horizon Hobby is the one calling the shots on pricing and marketing.
There’s a brand for every budget. Team Associated makes the DR-10 for less than $400. I have one. It’s kinda lame.
