I think the rough muddy roads may be a problem. It does not matter if it is FWD or RWD. For those muddy roads you actually require 4WD - this is what I glean from the many Indonesian YT videos.

surprisingly it handles very good just like the alza which is share the same platform as this and good news this car there's no waiting list unlike the alza which is up to 6 months waiting period

Wonder why the Veloz feels underpowered compared to a standard Yaris when it's only slightly heavier (1 pax weight) Wonder if it's to preserve the D-CVT gearbox?
@@gyatoch.7225 Yeah, for the max weight definitely got to factor in the additional 200-250kg. Hmm, they probably limit the output so that if max weight is carried the DCVT doesn't go over it's limit in this case as you mentioned. Though it's a bit sad that we can't enjoy the same power output as a Yaris/Vios when only 1-5 pax are in the vehicle. Understandably it's just a 95k car afterall.

how is the handling compared to alza 2022? they have different ground clearance so I'm curious to see if there is any significant difference in handling feel.
Whenever I watch can "car X" climb the Genting Highland review, all of them will say yes. I never see anyone review saying this or that car cannot climb.

I'm sorry but I feel that a 1.5 liter engine makes the Veloz underpowered. I can hear the engine strain throughout the drive up Gentings. Long term won't be good for the gearbox and engine. More so if you actually load the vehicle with 7 pax.

Go and buy another vehicle then. This vehicle is built as such to keep the cost affordable, and is for people who need to move people or things. A lorry may have 500 horsepower, and still can only struggle up this hill. Everything has a purpose, and this is not a sports car. Get a CX8, or a BMW X5, ah, but then you want it at 95k, right?
@@YSKhongDriving my brother's previous alza model had that flat springless flooring that it felt like you're sitting in a van and made squeaking noise on uneven roads. It was also landing hard on bumpers as if it had poor absorber. I guess that's not the case nowadays.

Probably.. since we have to factor in the max load weight can be significantly higher than yaris (up to extra 200-250 or more kg) i think

Actually, any car pushed hard will be loud. We are climbing a very high mountain at high speed.
Comparing Vios vs Veloz power and torque, the veloz is down- tuned compared to vios. Engines setting not the same though emgines are the same.
If u compare with the recent gen avanza has toyota made alot of good improvements to it??

Frankly, the ride is much the same to me but some people say the Veloz is better.
The Veloz rides 30mm higher, very good for ground clearance.

Watch both the videos. I think the shocks and springs have been retuned to cater for this, so it is still very good around corners

Depends on your taste. But with 1.5 liter engine with 7 speed CVT for Veloz, at least have more improvement based on performance and fuel consumption
