That's some funny shit !LLAFL !
lAUGHINGLIKEAFATLADY !
Where is the next video? it says its private!
Dude I fucking loved this so much. Hilarious.
2:58 all day son.
Goddamn hilarious. Those who enjoy TEACH will probably also like British comedian Peter Serafinowicz's LOOK AROUND YOU, a retro-style nonsense educational series.
Don't be dead. Reconsider. Some real wisdom there
Just imagine if ur teacher was reggie watts. Just imagine.
it would be like this
Id pass lol
I would've learned the real deal about Mice & Men right away.
I would be honored and humbled
Ok, I imagined.
5:15 this is pretty much how every upper-level college course approaches any kind of source material
"just take a quote from something that supports your thesis, and cite your sources!".
Reggie is right even when he's trying to be wrong.
#ZenMaster
I wish Mr. Watts would be my Teach.
Did anyone else notice he wasn't even hold holding "Of Mice and Men" but "A Street Car Named Desire" lmao
i can't help but feel like there is some legit advice hidden somewhere deep inside this video...but i can't find it
keep looking, it's there
+Bradley T don't die
+OmikronGT The last part has to have sarcasm. 'judging a book by it's cover'
There's life...and there's a little bit of death...there's life again...but then, just when you think things are alive...there's death again.
It all connects
i always thought to kill a mockingbird was about racial prejudice in 1930's alabama
***** I ate fiberglass insulation. It wasn't cotton candy like the guy said... my tummy itches.
Not really. Many people think so, but it's actually about not being alone in hatred of birds that mock everyone no matter what and about life, death and a little bit of death. Racial prejudice in 1930's Alabama is just where the story is set, but you need to look behind the story and see the real message written on the back of the book or on some random pages.
history teaches the important lessons "dont be dead" xD
I'd so watch this sitcom
Life teaches us these important lessons: Don't be dead. Reconsider.
Fucking genius xD
Someone give this guy a "Teacher of the Year" award. Truly inspiring.
5 minute class? Yes please!
More time to get baked.
@@Notecrusher Aspire to be more, pothead.
Omfg the tape part at the end. XD
"Damnit.." You could even hear someone trying not to laugh. XD
What Reggie says at the end was pretty much said to me in graduate school. :)
An award winning lesson.
With literature anything is right as long as you can back it up lol
With science, anything is right as long as you can back it up
Surely you both mean "with anything," for you couldn't very well be deemed "right"-in any context-without first having proper evidence to back said self-imposed "rightness" up.
The Mockingbird is a figure of nature, its song is natural. The thesis of To Kill a Mockingbird is to compare that naturalness with the perceived naturalization of the black man in racism, while contrasting it with the perceived role of the white man as the creator of culture in opposition to nature. This contrast can be compared with theology in which the divine is found in language, and this figure of language is contrasted with the diabolical in music. The divine speaks, the devil is silent (or musical). When Tom is put on trial, he requires the white man to speak for him in his defense, while the black man's speech in his own defense is reduced to a kind of music.
To Kill a Mockingbird, as a title uses the gerundive form "to kill," compare "Kill a Mockingbird" a command, or "He kills a mockingbird," the present tense. The command form would constitute an injunction that could be disobeyed as a matter of personal prerogative, while the present tense referring to someone in the third person would connote again a prerogative that is being taken on by an individual. This captures the degree to which racism is perceived as a higher calling or inevitability externallized onto culture, among those who are racist, and *not* a personal prerogative or vendetta.
WOW! Thank you Reggie. I have decided how I want to TEACH this world. You have created an avenue. Thank you.
"...but then, just when you think things are alive....they're dead." Story of my life.
Reggie Watts is the shit.
COME TO TORONTO PLEASE!
5:32 I love how they didnt use the actual "Of Mice and Men" book cover.
Anyone just love the theme? Especially that last part. 70's-80's.
Why does this not have billions of views!!??
I freakin' lost it when he started analyzing Lenny. Well done, Mr. Watts!
Yay, another episode!
You're awesome Reggie :D
Teach is the greatest. This should be a full-on TV series.
Of mice and men and to kill a mockingbird were literally the only two literature books we read at my high school, but the teacher was nowhere nearly as good as Reggie.
If I was a substitute teacher I would do the tape gag. Lol
“But then, just when you think things are alive…”
holy fuck the part about lenny got me laughing so hard it almost actually killed me
"Don't be dead, reconsider." ~RW
Shit, "this book is about learning that other people are on your side in hatred" that's actually what a huge part of the book is about
"what cant he not kill?" !!!! lolllll
That dude's ruler suspenders are pretty rad.
Such a great series. Please do a million.
What an mazing and inspiring man.
I couldn't take my eyes off of his lav mic. THIS IS WHAT I GET FOR DOING SOUND FOR A LIVING
"Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar" -Couchman
OK, for real, the intro song is catchy as ever.
i wish you were my teacher for 6 minutes everyday Reggie!!!!! i love you!
I can easily sleep to this.
I wish I had teachers like Reggie .
I drew to the same conclusion with Lenny!
Don't be dead, kay? Reconsider.
That's my new mantra.
"You can always judge a book by its cover"
Maaan, I could watch a million of these
As an actual English teacher I can say that Reggie Watts is 100% correct. What's even better is that you don't even have to tell the kids to read the books because they don't read them anyway!
When he said "most importantly, learning who published it!" I fell out of my chair laughing.
Saved me sooooo much time on my coursework! Def gonna get a A* maybes even a B- lel
Def my fav series on youtube right now
Much better than the last, loving these.
Keep doing these, they are hilarious
so many important life lessons...
how come none of my high school teachers ever went that in depth to of mice and men? it gives it a whole new meaning
WTF, only 235k views? This is phenomenal!
The kids acting is spot on
Brilliant! Can't wait for the next one. ^_^
I'll have to rethink how I teach both of those books. Thanks for the insights.
If only the intro never ever ever ever ever ever stopped.
Reggie Watts we wanna see you do more acting like this!
great work!
He's holding up a copy of A Streetcar Named Desire at the end. That's brilliant.
Kkkkkkkkkkkk. Really funny, AWESOME content! Great material, man...
I learned so much about those books!! Good thing I never read them, I don't have to now!!
I'm so excited for the music teacher episode! =D
Those ruler suspenders though.
I hope he does a Physical Education eppie
The Mic and Men sci-fi thing xD
Watching it “Teach” clips got me thinking how awesome it would be to sub.
This is the funniest thing I have ever seen.
Reggie is an awesome musician, but he is a freaking genius when it comes to comedy, this was hilarious and it is going to gain the channel more subscribers than most of its other videos.
I was waiting for the drop the whole time
I love how in the opening credits there are two scenes of a basketball goal that have nothing to do with anything.
he diddint leave leave in this episode! keep these coming! i was dying laughing!
I want Mr. Watts to listen to my feelings too.
Oh captain, my captain!
REGGIE!!! Would love to see you in AP Bio like this, that would be amazing!! You, Glenn howerton, Patton Oswalt..yes please
Looking forward to the music teacher episode.
Hi Professor Watts, thank you for this lesson. I hope this question doesn't sound stupid, but in reference to your question of why the first character in To Kill A Mockingbird hates mockingbirds, wasn't Harper Lee forced to grow up and raise mockingbirds as a kid, so the character is a reaction to her upbringing? Sorry if that's a dumb question but I hope you can clear this up.
Haha! I wish Mr Watts was my teach!
Funny stuff, Reggie. Enjoy your day.
I'm starting to think this isn't actually educational...
Where can I get the life/death cow for my classroom?
Reggie carrying on the spirit of Look Around You.
I had teachers like this in the 80s. My science teacher had a trippy psychedelic poster of Easy Rider on the wall and jokingly made references to joints when referring to soldering. He wore a huge Black Sabbath looking celtic kind of cross too. Always wore turtlenecks. He was serious about science but totally wasn't uptight about anything.
His argument for Lenny at 4:30 sounds like the Bene Gesserit lol. It makes me fuckin love this guy that much more. And when I say fuckin love I mean I would fuck and love him.
There needs to be more of this
Reggie is such a legend
These guys are on the edge of laughing
All you really need to do is look at the thumbnail and read the description. It's not about watching videos.
To Kill a Mockingbird is about two people who are obsessed with killing mockingbirds.
To Kill a Mockingjay is about two people who are obsessed with killing katniss everdeen.
gotta get these out faster. also that intro is awesome!
two more on the way!
SHWOOOP! cant wait =]. This is my type of comedy, rare!
This is actually what it's like in my school
This school is nuts.... I mean since when do they have 6 minute classes!!! That's insane!!
he's our teach
I will always judge a book by its cover
that's why they have covers on books
I think Thug Notes would disagree with his analysis.
If something mocked me, id be like, shut up
lol hes holding A Streetcar Named Desire
this is the real shit. Im gonna rent the vhs copy of this video.
Dr. Reginald, I enjoyed your very informative class. My copy of Of Mice & Men was the same as yours, but in my copy of To Kill a Mockingbird the first chapter showed that the first mockingbird to be killed was an accident and that at that point there was no animosity. This unintentional killing caused mockingbird outrage and retaliation and that is what started the Mockingbird Wars. Could I have a bootleg copy? Is there any other reason for this discrepancy? Sincerely, A. Studentessa
Im loving it keep it up reggie
You can ALWAYS judge a book by it's cover.
