Very easy to assemble Recommened, and only attachments I've used so far work well, and are easy to use. Doing a good job on the new carpet in my bedrooms and stairs. Works well on the hardwood on my main floor too. Reasonable weight and cord length. I already knew from an earlier review that it wouldn't fit under furniture, but I can use my Eufy for that, so no problem - the high traffic areas that need a stronger suction was really what I bought this for. If it continues as it's started, it will be a good buy and well worth the money. I have had two Shark Rocket stick vacs in the past that are super easy to use, but the motors just don't last well, even with scrupulous cleaning of the filters. I'm hoping for better with this Bissell.

This review is one of the best I've seen on TH-cam! You provide clear and concise information and you are not biased at all. With regards to Dysons 15 year claim. It's a lie, I've seen a few V10s with batteries that have already worn out. Dyson are aware of this limitation and that's why in the manual, they recommend using in Low and Medium mode as opposed to Boost and they mention low and med helps to conserve durability and lifespan of the battery. I actually prefer the V8 and it's compact and ideal for my small apartment, would be nice if they bought out a V8 with a screen on the back with a timer. I own the Torque drive for a few days now, and I am quite impressed with the mount of dirt is sucks out of the rugs and does a good job cleaning out my PC case, I used to use a datavac but it only blows the dust all over the place, using the V11 soft brush head it was a pleasant surprised. However, for the tougher cleaning between the deep groves the datavac is most optimal, and then using the V11 to suck in most the dust particle, and finish it off with the air purifier. overall aside from the color scheme clashing with my other household items I do like it and it is a great addition to my inventory.
The newest October 2020 version of the Dyson V11 is on sale here in Japan (BIC Camera) for just $430 so I immediately ordered one. This is my first time to buy a pricey vacuum, so I’m going around watching reviews. Thank you for this amazing and fun review!

Got my V8 today but the version PRO with great 3 extra extensions and a bag for all of them (uptop adapter, flexy with its little brush). Also got a free offer with 3 special extensions for the car. Super happy! No allergies!
The Absolute model actually comes with the LED screen soft roller head for hardwood floors, motorized high torque auto head for all floors (which auto detects what type of floor your on and how much power you need) and the soft brush. Just to Clarify 😉👍🏻
I remember when I was a kid and would get super excited over a video game, and would goggle at a review of games that I was interested in. Here I am at age 29 goggling over a vacuum cleaner and watching this review, a brilliant review mind you.
a lot of reviews are wrong about the filter, it is two stages a pre-filter and then a HEPA filter if you look you can see the cyclone generators tubes lead to an area in front of the pre-filter. the air passes through the pre-filter through the motor assembly and then discharged to the HEPA filter the only difference is the fact that the two filters are in one housing you can also see that there are two different types of filter material one is corrugated (HEPA) and the other is a fabric like material with the image of a tap telling you to wash the filter with water.
I really am a fan of the V11 with the lcd-screen. It is very satisfying to know how much time is left till the battery will die on you. I can vacuum my house (3 stairs, 6 rooms, and carpet on stairs and landing/gangway+couch) for 3 days without recharching.

I have a v6 and I am still amazed how it picks up difficult long dog hair and cob webs. The newer ones have a different way to open the waste container and it does look a lot simpler to unload the waste bin
yup, BB&B certainly worked for me here in Toronto, ON. Canada. Loved that 20% discount. Dyson had to replace my v11 trigger as the red tab goes after 6-9 months.
Good review, Lisa! I just bought ( and returned) the v 10 Absolute and purchased the v11 instead. The improvements in the new model are definitely worth spending the extra for once I compared them side by side. The High Torque motor head is a game changer but I still want the fluffy head for dusting! It is cheaper to get it with the vacuum (in the Absolute model) than to buy it separately, at least in Canada. However it is not necessary to have it at all if you want to save some money!
I love the amount of geeky detail Lisa gets into without being nutty and nit-picking irrelevant things. I like where this is going. I want to see more objective reviews of silly things.

If anyone is wondering it doesn't look like the 20% off coupon at Bed Bath & Beyond works anymore. The V11 is coupon-excluded, though the older models may not have the same exclusion.
The fluffy isn’t available for the torque one either but it is on the torque + model here in Canada anyway. Oh and another important thing is they went from a five year warranty to a two year with the new V11.

Great review as always, but I think Lisa is incorrect about Bed Bath and Beyond honoring their 20% coupons on the V11 vacs. They do allow the coupon on most other models (got a V10 this way) even though the coupons always say no Dyson, but the V11 is actually excluded.
Here in China we have a V10. We have 5 cats and it does a good job of sucking up hair from the tile floors. Reviews indicate that it's more powerful than other makes models. My only beef with it is the length of time the filter requires to properly dry. Dyson recommend 24 hours but here in summer it takes 48 hours. When you need to vacuum the house everyday, 48 hours is unacceptable. A redesign is needed. I wonder if I can buy a spare filter? V11 20% power increase is impressive and I like the ability to carry around a couple of attachments. Not interested in fancy read outs.
Don't knock the fancy readout until you try it, ha,ha! And yes, you can buy a replacement filter for the Dyson on their website for not too much. Go for it!

Good review but I think demonstrating how to empty the bin and what it is like in real life would be useful. I have never been able to empty my V6 without touching the debris inside. I would like to see whether the new design makes a big difference, including for fine particles.

No, I'm the patient one. Our cat generally detests vacs, but he loves being vacuumed by this one (only on Eco mode). He begs to be vacuumed and doesn't want me to stop!
There’s three steps. Animal no LCD, no soft brush, no fluffy. Torque yes LCD, yes soft brush, no fluffy. Absolute (not available in the US) yes lcd, yes soft brush, yes fluffy.

I have the top V11 and love it, but ergonomically it doesn't feel right. I'm noticing that at the base of my thumb there is a callus forming. There should be a foam cushion in that are to rest that part of your hand. Of course you can always wear a glove.

I bought a Dyson V11 in Feb 2020 for over a $1000 Canadian. Quite a hefty price tag for a vacuum.! At first it worked ok but I have had a great deal of issues in the last two months. I am very disappointed in the quality of the parts. The parts are weak. My trigger/switch broke. At first I thought I wasn't pressing it down properly but eventually it got to a point where I couldn't get it to work at all. So I contacted Dyson and they told me that the warranty period was just over. I asked them if the issue could be fixed and they said I'd have to replace the motor and cyclone. This would have cost several hundred dollars. But they didn't even have the parts in store. So after sale service is poor as well! I told them that I was disappointed in the service and the best they could offer me is that they too are disappointed that they couldn't help me at that time. My son in law looked it up on the internet and found out that this is a common problem. He was able to order me the trigger/switch (for less than $20) and he replaced it for me. Why can't they partner with some vacuum repair business in the various major centres so they get the basic training for repairing the vacuum for much less than replacing whole units of the vacuum? It's also not good for our environment to throw out whole units when a much smaller part can be used the fix the issue.

Anything from the v6 is actually a downgrade since it has the most AW on low mode where you'll be using it most of the time anyways. Have fun.

Love my V10, the only thing that I wish I had from the V11 is the plastic housing on the stick to attach 2 attachments of your choice.
The v11 is also much quieter. That alone was worth the upgrade. My ears would literally ring when using the v10.

You didn’t mention that the v11 absolute also has the fluffy attachment with it, so the LCD screen is not the only difference

I told them that I was disappointed in the service and the best they could offer me is that they too are disappointed that they couldn't help me at that time. My son in law looked it up on the internet and found out that this is a common problem. He was able to order me the trigger/switch (for less than $20) and he replaced it for me. Why can't they partner with some vacuum repair business in the various major centres so they get the basic training for repairing the vacuum for much less than replacing whole units of the vacuum? It's also not good for our environment to throw out whole units when a much smaller part can be used the fix the issue.
