You’d never know since she does such a good job hiding it but I saw her in a British show I found on Netflix years ago called lovesick before the good doctor came out and she talks with her regular English accent in that. Good comedic show if you wanna check it out
I am glad that they kept Lea's character, I feel like their relationship helps a little bit with understanding that everyone is different and it can take a lot of effort to maintain that relationship especially when you see that your perspectives of everything are different. I think having someone like that in your life and listening to what they see when they look at things would be a gift.
Creatip I think they would get on quite well actually. They’d have great discourse and House would not get involved with Shaun’s personal stuff. He’d likely respond to him in those moments like Melendez learned was necessary. Bluntly and then move on.
Lea is important to Shawn and the show. Did not like when it looked as if they where going to write her off when she moved to Hershey P.A. happy to see her come back

It was awful when they turned Lea into a shallow sleaze. That felt out-of-character for the person they'd originally created her to be, and completely unrealistic in real life. Lea seemed wiser, more self-committed, and had an unusual grasp of Shaun's needs and capabilities as a man. Shaun's new girlfriend didn't work either. Bring Lea's connections with Shaun back and give them much more together. Let her learn too, like from having encouraged Shaun to drive.
Yep I agree about Lea and you described her well. Shaun trusted only her to go with him to his parents, and she knew to hold him tight when he fell apart. But I also appreciate the complexity between the two women in his life for show intrigue.

Hello. May I suggest the use of people first language. This is where we say phrases such as “people with Autism” instead of “autistic people”. This idea is meant to convey that people are not identified by their diagnoses and that first they are simply people.

No I don't like Lea, she's always trying to change Shaun, and yes I understand that she does try to help him, but wants it done one HER time, she's not patient with him, making or talking him into doing something like driving her car in the first season, stop pushing him into being someone more "normal", he's far from normal, let him take on things in his own time
That's a real character. Please are different ,she's not doing a science experiment, and her motives are not calculated. I think the relationship with Carly did sort of feel lime an experiment and has he ever met her friends. Didn't want him to Talk to Lea , live with Lea be friends with Lea, have lunch with Lea, live with Lea. So don't think that relationship can work, as Shaun has no friend out side of work besides Lea and Doc Glassman

She doesn't treat Shaun as an autistic person with disabilities, she taught him a lot of things he didn't even know he could because nobody thought he could do it!! Because the show is based on a Korean one and her first name is Lee (in Korea people tend to address each other by first name ) and they also add an "ah" when calling someone (I don't fully understand why) so at the end was Lee ah and when turned into the American version was somehow similar and she ended up being "Lea" I hope this is understandable to you 😅
Finished watching season 3.. We are so disappointed!! Dr.Melendez died :( We thought that LEA died due to the earthquake! We don't like Lea but we love CARLY!GET RID OF LEA PLEASE!!!!

People always find something to be offended about. Finding a lead actor with autism may be extremely difficult not to mention how complex the medical terminology is on the show. They made the right decision to show an accurate portrayal by casting Freddie Highmore. I cannot imagine another adorable face playing Dr. Shaun Murphy. I think the show has done well with casting guest roles for real actors with autism.
I never liked Lea. At first I thought she is a bad influence to Shaun. But I think Shaun needs someone like Lea in his life. Though I was never a fan of her.

Ok so I am only 1 minute into this video but I think that it is super important to mention that no one without proper training should ever base medical emergency care on what is seen or heard on any of these shows and you need to do independent research on the veracity of what is said. I generally like these vids but I am really not happy with the statement that these shows have the ability to teach us proper terminology etc. They may not even have a medical consultant and for further evidence you can watch any real doctor reacting to it! I love watching the good doctor so not hating just strongly disagree with the learning statement.
