Ok, I bought this saw and every accessory to go with it.
I am so impressed with the quality of every part of the saw and kit. Every detail has been thought through. The blade change is amazing they have even sealed the gate and it feels like opening a Mercedes door. The blade has absolutely no Wobble It's so precise. The plastic used is really high quality. The metal is tough but light. The main weight is the motor, but it's well balanced and seats nicely on the rail, with no tilt. The gauges are far better than that on the Festool, they are higher up and easier to read and adjust even at tilt and done with a single knob. The red guide on the front moves with angles so you always know the cut line -on or off the rail. So much more to mention, but I forget. Yes it is a more expense than the Festool but it really is better engineered and you can feel it immediately. If anyone wants to know anything about it, let me know.

Hey. how are you liking your MT55 these days?. just out of interest, what type of materials do you mostly cut with yours?.
i want one specifically for cutting 15mm 8x4' sheets of glossed veneered ply (double sided), do you reckon its up to the task? (as in nice clean cuts both sides)

I bought this. Does not disappoint. Perfect cut every time. Blade change has to be seen to be believed.

I would like to see a Mafell company design a new mt 55 sliding on kss guide, since they released a mafell mf 26 which has identical motor and similar base.Looking forward to it.

I dont see any Mafell here in Western Australia but a friend says you can get it from Sydney tool in Eastern States. I have the festool plunge saw didn't even know about Mafell. The zero chip is fantastic because I get little chips tiny on malemite.
I would like to see chip free in malemite. But now I just cut on ply wood and varnish. I like their jigsaw too.

Yeah! If you cut Melamine sheets, it's always a tear out when you plunge cut all the way through because of the blade curves back to tear out the Melamine. With a scoring cut, you only slice the Melamine and prevent the tear out. This holds true on the table saw too. I always have to score the first cut and then do an actual cut so there is no tear out. My only problem is saving enough to by the Mafell, it's like buying a Lamborgini. LOL! $870 just the saw and $1,010 for saw/track. The Indicator is extra $73.70.
You know if they only make the track to be able to balance on a thin board, I don't think you'll need table saw anymore. You can plunge cut to rip small strips with out wasting materials.

Quick correction / point to note: At 2:33 he says "If you're using a track system, the saw pivots about the underside of the track. So no matter what angle is selected, this edge is always your cut line" and he then later says the movable pointer is there to show the cut line when you're working off the base plate instead. Not sure where they got this information from as it isn't mentioned in manual, and it doesn't work like this one mine (which was a bit of a disappointment). Cutting at 45 degrees still moves the cut line over by about 1.5mm to the right whether I'm working on the Mafell track or using it on Festool track. If someone know's differently please let me know in the comments. Had wondered if the saw moved slightly differently on the Mafell tracks once you've taken the insert out so it can work on other track, but I don't think that's the reason - I think they just got this point wrong

its a known defect of mt55cc. there was a guy in youtube solved that problem with shimming inside of the base.

I think I'm going to get this, only thing is wanted to know. If something happened to it and it broke would it get repaired here in UK or would it be sent back to Germany. And who pays for the courier to collect it and return it? Anyone know?
