- Are The Dungeons & Dragons 40TH Anniversary Cartoon Hasbro Figures Really That Bad? Today we take a look at the entire set of Dungeons and Dragons 40th Anniversary Cartoon Figures by Hasbro. This set was a long time in the making as the popular 1983 cartoon series the figures were based on never had original toys. Unfortunately these toys were receiving some early poor reviews from wave 1 with several figures arriving damaged or broken. Are they really that bad and should you consider picking them up?

I have the full set, and agree 💯 percent with you. They look great, but some of the characters are hard to pose, and you have to be careful trying to get them into a position to stand on their own. My Venger’s foot was in a weird position when I opened the package, and I snapped it clean off trying to correct it. I have them somewhat steady now, but every now and then, one of them will just tip over, causing a domino effect, knocking other characters on my display over. All that being said, Tiamat will be a day one purchase for me if they ever decide to release it.

Yeah they came out last year right around the movies release. Check your local ollies if you are in the US as they have them there for Cheap

Appreciate the video! I have this entire set as well. Many have had luck using a hair dryer for a bit to allow the parts to move much better. They are very easily breakable from the factory unfortunately and it's best to warm them up...
I would have bought the collection if the packaging was better. I like a plastic bubble so I can see the figure (Like GI Joe figures). Not a fan of the way Hasbro did these…
The packaging looks nice but i agree i would have preferred a plastic bubble on the outside. QA is honestly the biggest issue with these
Really wish someone would do an LJN-esque version of the characters that'll fit in with the old line.
I love that you are doing toys now too. A man after my own heart. I bought these when they came out and Diana’s arm broke off even when I was being super careful to pose her. Luckily I bought them from Target so I just returned it for a new one. I displayed them for a little while but recently packed them away because I needed more room for my vintage toys.

I Loved this cartoon as a kid and watched the final episode again recently on utube and the show still holds up. Man we really did have great cartoons growing up in the 70’s/ 80’s I also loved battle of the planets, Robotech, M.A.S.K, Centurions there was just so many great cartoons back then
Battle of the planets/Gotchaman was my favorite! I still want to pick up that action figure but $109 is kind of a lot for me
man shame about the build quality, I'd have been at least curious about these! I do love they come with legit D&D dice, that's definitely a neat touch. I did really enjoy the cartoon when I was younger.
ALWAYS heat your figures before moving them after you open. Hair dryer or boil in bag….
I thought they were overpriced. Plus no place carried all of them. I could only find Hank and Diana. And my Ollie’s only has Diana and Bobby. After your review, I’m glad I never picked them up. To me it seems that the Hasbro assumed that they were never going to be opened and cheaper out dramatically on their manufacturing.

even though they break easy i would think they'd still be good for display only purposes, I would build a wood base and decorate the base to look like the ground/natural environment and then super glue the toys feets to the base and just use it as a display peice. not sure why anyone would actually buy toys to "play" with, therefore i don't know why durability really matters, i thought adults only bought this stuff to display. as a side note, can anyone tell me, is there anyone that is or is it possible to buy materials to make full size arcade cabinets for use in rehoming arcade1up guts? I was thikning of just buying arcade1ups and then getting full size cabinets built for them and replaces the controllers and monitors, and just have all the vinyl art recreated full size fior the full slize cabs.
