In a draft where the Seahawks may have gotten one of the biggest steals in the first round in Byron Murphy, the Seahawks followed up that lucky success with their third-round selection Christian Haynes. Haynes was viewed as a Top 50 player by many. And beyond Haynes being very talented and value pick for the Seahawks, Haynes also fits this new offensive scheme like a hand to glove.

If our 2nd year guard can play well this year Olu can come thru for us at center and our rookie can play as well as he did in college AND our 3rd year tackles can be solid, WE MIGHT BE GOOD. Hell, we will be great!! We also have depth and a few vets to rely on. LETS GO!!

hey man, had to bounce a little early but watched to the end. Again, I"m baseball stupid and it's the little things like moving the walls in to make it more hitters' friendly, man, that really escape me, that's totally new info for me, can they do that and what does MLB have to say about something like that?
And, last point, can't wait to see Westover and I get it why he wasn't drafted but he's going to be a real steal in the NFL I think, I just hope that he'll get played properly. And going back to our exhange about Jimmy Graham, it's pretty true that under PC the TEs were never used properly, but I always thought it was bcause of RW3 and his height more than anything else, but how they've used Fant under the previous regime, it's looking, yeah, a lot life it was PC, maybe, so I seriously hope we get more TE play. Maybe ol' "Ground Pete" just focused more on TEs being blockers than receivers, but the NFL just isn't like that anymore and really hasn't since Holmgren's time. Let's be honest, great tight ends, the Kelcis, the Kittles, the Gronkowskis all have to do with the QB and how they're played, and we have missed that terribly since Holmgren and Husky great Jerramy Stevens, Westoever could very well fit into that mold very well. Also loving the Barton pick, dude was way underutilized in Michigan (in the passing game), so this TE bunch is a super exciting group, I just hope they can also block lol
Another great show, by the way, how in the hell you don't have more subscribers and regular viewers, I have no idea :-)

Thanks, Chad that is very kind of you to say. I Yeah, MLB doesn't really restrict teams on field dimensions. The Mariners have actually moved the fences in already once, but it was very slight. They can absolutely do it.
I too thought maybe it was Russ' height limiting the TE production, but as we can see with the lack of targeting the middle of the field post-Russ that it would appear to purposeful from the coaching staff's perspective. I think Jimmy was used at 67% clip in the slot with the Saints and that number fell off the face of the Earth in Seattle. Just strange usage there all around.
I am high on Westover. He's a little stacked on the depth chart, but a great fourth TE on the PS, with some long term potential to make the roster - and if they ever wanted to re-institute the fullback, I'm just saying. :)

Can you do what Macdonald and the ravens did to the niners and purdy defensively. If you have time

When you was speaking about the impact haynes and murphy will have on the seahawks should be very drastic. I felt that when seatlle had the LOB the secondary was deep and a strength but the dline was what made it tough on the qb and rb. There was a physicality seattle had on both sides of the ball. Once that left it felt like that seattle won by getting lucky with russell wilson and his heroics. I think the three games that turned me against carroll was rams week 1 last year, ravens game and the niners were they toyed with seattle. In the super bowl years if that wouldn't happen because that would bring out more physicality towards a team and us fans knew when seattle played the niners that seattle would try to out physical the niners. Macdonald understand that the line of scrimmage and it's control is very important and after the game where Shanahan was talking about making dk blow up, we'll dk and other have that game marked on a calendar. The niners better hope seattle has growing pains at first because if Murphy is a legit dtackle and haynes is one of the best guards. Look out this could be a 13 win team. But I feel it will take time. It just way more exciting seeing a new regime coming in and see what they can do.

I think Jody wants to keep the team. I think she wants to put a collective together with firmer players. That's why they gave Russ the throwback
