    I drove this car for 10,000 km and it is going fantastic. I took it on long drive from Vancouver to Edmonton and then to Calgary. It's handling is amazing. Even the fuel economy on highway is around 7L/100 km.

      The majority of drivers don't use the massive amounts of power that modern cars have so 3 cylinders is more than adequate. I drove an RS1 and it boogied. I sure didn't find it sluggish off the line like the tester said in this review and yes, I am a car guy with an Italian sports car as my "sunny days only" driver.

    Great review! I bought a 2RS April 2024 (last month) and love it. I had a 2022 LT AWD before this new one. Big difference in just about everything. My 2RS is loaded with all the options, sunroof, driver confidence package, cargo liner, weather floor mats, cargo net, $27,000. The color is mosaic black metallic with red accents. Sporty and sharp looking. I only have 785 miles on it, but no issues.

    Enjoyed your review, Sam. I often do, you've got a pleasant balanced approach.
    I'm actually considering trading in a Maverick for one of these and don't consider it a downgrade. Sure, I'll lose AWD during a winter storm, but the features I paid extra for, like the luxury package, are pretty much standard features here, and for considerably less money, and I can still get keyless entry and start which my Maverick doesn't have at several thousand dollars more.
    Since I don't do weekend road trips like I used to, 98% of the driving will be commuting to work, so fuel mileage isn't a huge consideration, even if your results were a bit low -- I suspect temperatures played into that quite a bit. It just looks like a vehicle that for me will be comfortable, stylish, fun to drive, and still offer enough practicality for those things I need to run to home improvement stores for; even if it's not as quick as the Maverick.

    I think it’s a great little SUV/car. The only concern of mine is the three cylinder turbo. It reminds me of a Chevy sprint it had a three cylinder engine and it sounded like a sewing machine and this sounded very familiar like that. Yes I owned a Chevy sprint. It was a three cylinder nonturbo and it got great mileage. 26 miles per gallon for this segment is not the greatest. I would’ve thought it would’ve gotten better mileage than that but mind you it was extremely hot and the air conditioner was on all the time. Interesting vehicle for sure I know that Chevy has not had the best of luck in the trailblazer with this three cylinder engine. I have two friends that have had lots of problems with this Engine. But for the money someone might take a chance on it.

    • @philweiland5391

      it needs the 1.3 from the blazer or higher for AWD. Ideally, it needs the 1.5 from the Equinox but now you're talking a 3K higher price. Shoppers who buy this are truly giving up longevity and reliability for a lower price and new tech. This might very well need a new engine in 5-6 years. I suppose if replacement engines are offered at the right price,, and they should, it might make sense to replace it and keep it on the road. It's like a "go kart".

    • @staciecarverd8136
      @staciecarverd8136 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@philweiland5391 People said the same thing about Ford going to twin-turbo V6 in the F150. Now nearly everyone is offering a smaller turbocharged engine in a full-sized truck. Other than design flaw or lack of maintenance I haven't seen being overworked as a reason for repairs. I work with several people who repeatedly tow heavy loads with their Ecoboost F150s and they've no problems from being worked. I'll say we've seen more transmission issues if nothing else.

  • @palebeachbum
    @palebeachbum ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm not a fan of black-painted wheels and trim, but that orange color is gorgeous. My issue is, unless you get the top Active trim, that beautiful orange paint will be paired with either yellow, blue, or red interior trim depending on the trim level you select. All of those are hideous color combinations. I'm not sure what Chevy was thinking there. "I find the transmission tends to be clunky around town" is exactly why I love CVTs. I live in a city environment and the constant gear hunting and clunkiness of geared automatics is very unpleasant and tiring. CVTs are seamless and smooth. As for the engine, I have a nagging feeling it's going to turn out to be a turd long-term. Turbo engines simply have more parts and therefore more things to go wrong. Plus, GM Korea has a horrible track record with their tiny turbo engines. That's got me nervous. It's a very appealing new vehicle, but once the newness wears off and this thing is 6yrs old with 100k miles on it, I have a feeling people aren't going to think they're so great anymore. Time will tell. In the meantime, I'm intrigued.
