- Finally, the long wait is over - we managed to get a Honda Civic RS to do the ultimate test - on our favorite hill climb road, Genting Highlands.
A longer wheelbase, a wide stance, 18-inch wheels, Michelin PS4 treads, a SPORT mode, and Sports type paddle shifters - will this combination work well?
This time, of course we climbed all the way to the top, and the video is unedited from the bottom to the top, so you can see first hand everything that happened during this adventure.
The suspension is stock, Macpherson struts in the front and a multi-link arrangement at the rear - it worked very well, and the extended 2735mm wheelbase seems to have a positive effect on the handling.
What is important is that the overall package works well, and the result is a car that is relatively easy to handle.

dont forget the PS4 contributes a lot to give that neutral non understeer handling, with that tyre even last gen altis handles quite well. also while people complain about that cvt, it actually delivers if you asked for it with minimum drama and i believe is the right transmission choice for all who dont race and/or heavy tune their car

Not really dramatic, until PS4 + rigid collar.
If you need more, add eibach lowering spring and or ultra racing brace.

Just bought this car a month ago and all I can say is the handling of this car is top notch!!I have driven a lot of cars already but the civic is just on another level. Suspension and comfort is great! Power is more than enough.

I think the E variant does come with the Sport mode. It's on the Gear stick (R,P,N,D,S) instead on the driving mode selector. The V & RS only have R,P,N & D without the S (sport) on the gear stick.
The Sport, Normal, and Eco are on the console behind the gear stick. Not on the gear stick. See my intro, it shows that part for a bit.

14:08 . The brakes work! Seems a well balanced car, given hard braking while turning at speed. Can’t stand d cvt whine tho.
The cvt sound is not apparent when driving normally, and even on the mountain, but the mic seems to pick it up. The human ear is not as sensitive.
Honda brakes mmg very good. Tested Civic FC and Accord last year. Accord when I applied some brake, it's quite grabby like Mercedes. Hard brake mmg makan. Honda definitely has its flaws but in terms of braking performance, I feel it's excellent.
Of course it's good , it cost you RM750++ per pair . It even more expensive than sti or jaguar or Clio RS brakes 😂

Each of the two have their merits.I suppose it really comes down to 6AT or CVT.

Love the cornering stability! I wonder the Continental 17" tyre on the V Spec can handle as well as this 18" of RS for such test drive? I have booked a red V as well! Expecting to get it delivered in mid April, Puchong!
If you don't drive to the limit, you probably wouldn't know the difference. If you can, then change to 18 inch, and fit Michelin PS4, kautim.

@@sengweiti6489 You can still fit the Michelin PS4 tyre on it with your 17". If i'm not mistaken, the OEM they gave would be the Continental MC5, which (for me personally) wouldn't prefer too much. :P Hope you enjoy your new car bro!
@@ykchoi99 However, what I heard is that the V spec has dedicated tuning for its stock 17". So, if one puts on a 18" on the V spec. It will not be that good in term handling! Is that true?
@Seng Wei Ti supposingly from what I know is they fine tuned your EPS according to the 17" size. So if retrofit a 18" to it you might not get the optimal ride and handling as for tuned for the 18". However, you may still replace your original 17" tyre with the PS4. The size for your 17" would be 215/50R17 (if I'm not mistaken). So you may just replace PS4 with the same size just like I did. ;) Hope it clarifies for you. ^^

Quick question Uncle YS, I already saw this FE run together with your Corolla Altis run. Obviously both of them are C segment & have different suspension system especially for the rear one. Which one do you like more uncle?

The Corolla is more comfortable but is slower due to a less powerful engine.

The E spec does have sport mode, it has the S gear just don’t have the button for it.

Probably a stupid question, but need to know as I am in the middle of getting this RS or Mazda CX-5 2.5 Turbo( I want RS, wife wants Cx5 due to height ease of climbing in and out) forget the class difference. Power and handling which is better?
The Civic is probably mor fun, but the CX5 Turbo is a very nice family vehicle.
My advice to you is buy the CX5. Then you get to sleep on the bed. Otherwise your dog will have to make space for you. Happy wife, happy life.

Comfort level is 8 out of 10.
The cams are mounted on different parts of the car, and car is in motion, so there are variations in movement.

Tough decision. The Mazda 3 costs a bit more, though. The two are very close.

A bit late to ask but how does the handling feel compared to the Honda City and how does it overall feel in a Genting drive compared to Honda City?
Definitely better and heaps faster than the City. This is a full C segment sedan, versus the City which is B segment.
Hi sir. Nice driving tho. Quick question, currently using civic fc, what’s the best car to upgrade after civic fc? Price range around 140-180k and normally driving with 1 passenger? Side note, i really enjoy driving especially at high speed.

@@danielbajrai2295 as proud owner of fe, i would say mazda 3 liftback is the only way to go...the passion of driving will fade away faster with fe, mazda 3 does offer u more qualities that u seek actually after the fc, trust me...go test drive both thoroughly then u will thank me later bud!
