@CHB8 not anime but if you have been living under a rock I’ll explain so back in 2021 Disney began to get rid of genuine creativity care originality and good story telling and throw it all in the bin and put in stuff like identity politics and all this stuff on black people and white people and all this stuff on woman empowering stuff and if you want more proof I suggest checking out the little mermaid remake the Milan remake Velma the mandalorian and it’s seasons the barbie film and so many more.

I don't usually like these fake trailers, but this one was really well done and I think Evangelion is something that could potentially have a well done adaptation; it would just have to be like four hours long.

@@maxwellpowell4306I liked Pacific Rim a lot, and I can see the similarities, but Evangelion's complex and compelling storyline was the biggest draw for me.
If Guillermo Del Toro, Robert Rodríguez and Christopher Nolan joined hands to make this, with Hans Zimmer making the music with the original sound crew, epicness would await us.

A Neon Genesis Evangelion is an insane task to pull off. Yes the last movie that closed the series was simply spectacular. It was the real thing in anime pulling off insane drawings and closing the series with a good note.
A translation should get few more things like the organic robotic mechanisms on these things. There should be purely robotic units and the classical ones found on NGE. A movie should up the game further adding more dimensions to the great series.
A clean budget for this are over the 500 millions. All the resources would be allocated on CGI, special effects and classical scenarios. Another alternative of a simple anime movie continuing the saga pulling off good CGI, computer graphics, traditional drawing and painting.
I would say that with current technology you can do this with a quarter or less than that. Remember that this very convincing fan made trailer must be done with blender for free, at max with a time value of 10 to 100K USD. And if you have a competent casting director and decide to use unknown actors instead of A-list, you can further lower it to a fifth or sixth of your number.
AI generated characters are just around the corner, if mature enough it will even further lower the cost by replacing the need of actors altogether.
Seriously, I would give anything for a live action Evangelion movie on THIS level of quality in production. It’s a shame it’s not real. I got chills watching it.

This (not this footage)was in early planning stages right after lord of the rings came out. Weta studios was tapped to do the special effects/cg it just never got off the ground. The concept art is out there, I spoke to some of the artists right after it got out and they were excited for it too. I think it would have been this good in their hands

First of all, "thrice upon a time" explains it all. They made it three times, we can't revive and kill again this serie.
We have to learn that there are things which are marvelous and even if bitter, they just need to be accepted. It's like trying to revive a great opera, a great tragedy, trying to rewrite it.
You can't even say it's just a live action , because we perfectly know they'll never transpose it without any change. It's impossible. And if you make something different there again you open a window for a possible different scenario.
But let me say that even in that case, a perfect impeccable transposition, it's stil something new, something different.
And yet again, a new evangelion.
You declared its end but you want to revive it again. Because you don't accept it ended like that. And if you don't accept you didn't even understand its message.

If it's done by a Canadian production company or different American company understands 100% of Evangelion's story created by Hideaki Anno and not cater to the superfluous imagery and go for the real literary meanings set forth by Anno. They get the old and new fans invested into the IP to pony the anime merchandise to complete this live-action franchise.
