Magnus' endgame is second to none. He moved his pieces with machine-like precision to exact a "W." Well done with the analysis . It was a terrific game.
I still remember the first Praggnanandhaa game I saw. I got really excited by his great style. I was so tirred by all the top GMs always playing it save. I respect their grind, but a lot of the games never felt that exciting to me. Praggnanandhaa is so different from that and while I love Alireza and (obviously) Magnus, Pragu is my favorite player right now. I always follow his games and love when he's featured on the channel
Imagine WANTING to go into a queen and pawn endgame with Magnus. It could be that Prago is actually going into these situations knowing he probably won't win, but he will certainly learn. Incredible precision from the GOAT 🔥🔥
Ahh yes, I've been waiting for this since I've heard these 2 monsters were gonna face eachother today Thanks for the consistency & please give us another video today 😁🙏🏻
@@priyanshchess4836 he played well in game 2 but overlooked a tactic. I'm guessing he missed the queen sac line and was counting on Ne7+. Like I said, he was playing well until he wasn't.
GOSH !!! The Queen and Pawn end game here is just so amazing it’s another realm, another complete universe of Chess playing with its own hugely complicated rules. (Normally - I had thought - the fewer pieces, the less complicated; Not here !!). And the fact that both players had so little time and that Magnus exploited his 2-3min advantage is extraordinary; I could easily have spent 30mins on every move, and still got it wrong…. Just Amazing Amazing Chess, Thkz Agad.
The only time i remember him risking the endgame in a worse position was against abdusattorov in the world rapid championship. First time ive seen him do something "stupid". Nodirbek had a pawn that was about to promote, and magnus had a perpetual, but he tried to go for the win,and ended up losing
This is just a demonstration of why studying the endgame is potentially the most important piece of chess theory. Knowing opening and midgame tactics is great, but it is better to know how to position your pieces so that your end game is winning.
I agree with all the stuff presented in this video , except one , “ suit up “ it s not Magnus’s quote, it s definitely Barney’s aka Neil Patrick Harris
As amazed I am by M's sheer dominance (though I often find his "squeeze water out of rock" play style boring compared to the elegance of Capablanca or chaos of Tal), it's also disappointing that no one else is stepping up to take the crown away from him.
I really don’t think it’s boring. Chess players today are just far stronger than back then, so it’s not often you can pull of crazy sacrifices without the opponent spotting it. If this is not pure endgame elegance then what is?
@@bjoernogthomas Today's players are of course more prepared and have learned both from strong engines and the masters before them. And while I agree not every game can have crazy sacrifices, that's not Magnus' style overall (and that's my point). The only beautiful old school Magnus game in recent memory is the one he played against Giri where he sacced the Queen for 3 pieces.
@@thiagobarbosa7905 We are getting into a philosophical discussion, but put simply -- yes, I would absolutely prefer that. If I wanted to see a perfectly accurate game, then I would just turn on engine vs engine and it would inevitably result in a draw. What I want to see is the beauty of Morphy, the simplicity of Capablanca, the hesitation of Bobby to play the right move because of a smile from Tal... That's what makes this game beautiful for me.
I really desire to see some grandmasters playing the middle game like alpha zero ... really a great chess engine ... I myself try to play like alpha zero ... but I am a human 😅😅
How did Magnus see all this shit? During a Rapid game, no less. I don't understand. My brain melts. More importantly, Praggu was able to mostly hold his ground throughout this madness, in order to even see this.
Magnus seems afraid when playing against a 16yr old one. Great game by Praggu. Well he has 12 yrs less experience than magnus though. Still he managed to get one win. In near future Praggu will be unstoppable one.
Magnus played the end game portion like a machine. Mind-blowing
This machine played the end game like Magnus.
Just Magnus doing Magnus things
Brilliant endgame from both. Magnus played it like Stockfish. Hard to believe, that this was a Rapid. Stunning!
Stockfish played like Stockfish 🧐
Trying to calculate the two queens rattling around both kings with checks makes my head explode
Magnus' endgame is second to none. He moved his pieces with machine-like precision to exact a "W." Well done with the analysis . It was a terrific game.
The funny thing if you caught the stream is the commentators were saying that Pragg was probably stronger in the end game. He's not.
Can't beat the king of endgames.
He was just too perfect,Magnus, game was pretty much equal over all
That's why Wesley made sure to utterly crush Magnus well before the endgame in 960.

Couldn't find anything about this match on Google yet Agad is here with the whole match as soon as it happened
That endgame play by Magnus!?!?!?! It's engine-like precision, all done with only a minute or so on the clock.
holy christ, that endgame was something else. Carlsen, you absolute god
Wouldn't be surprised if this exact endgame is used in a textbook someday, just wow 😯

Great game by both players. Prag is clearly up and coming, and potential contender for future world champ.
I love that Magnus has to bring his A game against Praggnanandhaa. Very exciting game! Thanks, agadmator
In the endgame, the gods have placed Carlsen. Brilliant game from both players.

Magnus' endgame skills are truly second to engines only
Wrong. Engines are second to Magnus.
@@1tubax Agreed. In certain positions, Magnus’s positional understanding leads to him finding winning moves that the engine might miss.
Magnus is far better

That endgame that Magnus played is just fabulous.

Wonderful game, Magnus is just brilliant in precise gaming. Praggu is also very talented.
Wtf, the ending skills🤯. Magnus, your abstract mind is from another dimension. Dude, how? XD. Mad respect and love till we all die, and we surely will
Super - accurate endgame play. Remarkable quality 👌
I love how the g3 pawn is just sat there at the end watching the black queen just run past it over and over.
I'm just happy this prevents another Pragg video. Been drowning in Pragg and Ding.

@7:59 why wasn't Queen to c3 played to pick up a pawn? While white couldn't produce any checks in return, seems like a pretty solid idea here!
This is the first time i see pawn grabbing resulting in a win in high level chess
That game was something else. Those guys are machines... jesus
Why did Pragga not capture the C3 Pawn by black queen at 7:10 ???
Where's the second game between Magnus and Pragu???
It was the best game in the match.
Magnus is to endgames what Khabib is to grappling! What a player!

But not unique though. There is an awesome game in the database Morphy vs De Riviere called the dancing queen!!
Great pick Antonio! Thx 🙏🏻, ♾d 🌻
Is Pragu still learning and evolving?
At this rate he will become the world champion.

Pls cover games between Magnus and Liem Le. It's been a while since I last heard of Liem
That calm g3 move is so Magnus lol
If I studied this game for a week I still don't think I could identify Pragg's mistake that led him to lose this game
I figured this would be the thumbnail, but thought the title would be: "Did Magnus blunder a pawn?"
