  • Sailing back to Sorong, Indonesia for another attempt to sort out our Water-Maker. As we leave, we are hailed & boarded by Indonesian Customs Patrol doing their routine inspections. We then sail on to Misool to find an anchorage for the night. Rob goes up the mast to check for possible "dodgy" spreader bolts. We end up in a lovely piece of paradise in West Misool, Raja Ampat.

@normparker1256 Thanks Norm. Always stuff to fix, but it’s definitely worth it. 👍

I was wondering what you thought "wasn't quite right" about your water maker. There's the ideal state to get your membrane in but they work even when they haven't been wet or our "expired".

@allrockfarmllc9909 I think the problem may be poor quality control from the manufacturer. They cost around $1,000 for the pair & should last years if installed & maintained properly. If the TDS is already higher than it should be at installation, they still work as you say. It just dramatically shortens the lifespan in my experience. WHO recommends max TDS at 500ppm (The membranes I replaced in Australia jumped dramatically over that level in Raja Ampat). The brand new ones we installed in Sorong produced water at over 470 when it should have been 150-300 max. It’s a frustrating situation, particularly in Indonesia where it is very difficult to source parts easily. Just another boat job I suppose. 🤷‍♂️😁

DJI just launched a new Mike. Haven’t tried it yet but the reviews are positive and they are much cheaper than the previous versions. It’s called DJI Mic Mini and the 2 tx version sells for $250 NZ pesos. Btw Not Sponsored!

@bevanjmoore552 You have her looking at mic’s again! Although I must warn you, she is notoriously stingey when it comes to spending $$$. LOL.

Dee, I love your vids but you really need to sort the sound out. Too much wind noise and so often I can’t hear what Rob is saying.

@bevanjmoore552 Hey Bevan, exactly right mate. Dee bought a couple of those “wind cancelling” BT microphones but keeps forgetting to use them, although they were only online cheapies & just sort of work. I will remind her again. Luckily the stuff I contribute to the conversation is mostly rubbish anyway LOL. Thanks for the feedback & I will let her know.
      Rob.

No offense intended but I think you look more at home in the sun and bikini

@mattdouglas5570 Hey Matt, Dee is DEFINITELY more comfortable in warm weather & would wear a bikini 24/7 given the option.
