crackin' match! couple observations: 1) i *really* hope berhalter calls in brandon vazquez for the upcoming friendlies, dude is a diamond of a #9...strong, fast, excellent touch and composure, big and strong in the air, he's quite possibly the best target striker prospect we've ever had. 2) andrew gutman ain't no joke. he's really stepped-up his game this year, and seems like he can keep improving. maybe see him on the usmnt too next cycle.

This is a draw that feels like a loss, FCC failed to capitalize on having a late lead, and this hurts their playoff chances as well...
Blame the no calls and offside from the refs, blackett for causing yet another goal to be scored, and our playoff chances are still there. Cheers
what the highlight reel doesn't show is atlanta's second goal being scored offsides. the whole stadium was stunned the refs did nothing after watching the clear and obvious replay.
you can't help but wonder that MLS omitted that replay from the highlight reel intentionally.

Atlanta's 2nd goal was clearly offside. Why won't the referee video review the call? This is an incredibly annoying aspect of MLS soccer. I understand that calls must be made in the heat of play, but on such a crucial goal with strong video evidence showing on the replay screens, the least the MLS officials could do is (1) review the play and (2) explain the call (or explain why they are not reviewing it. Fans on both sides of the ball want the outcome to be just; let's not turn MLS into a series of judgment calls in critical situations. Ditto on some of the flops and other calls in this game. Really poor vision and attentiveness by the ref.
VAR is there for a reason, they didn't even look at it.
you are 100% correct. the whole bailey was chanting VAR and play basically stopped for several minutes with everyone assuming it would be reviewed. truly a bizarre call / omission.
All goals are automatically evaluated by VAR. There’s never a need to “explain why they are not reviewing it” - if the VAR doesn’t call for a review it’s because they don’t see a clear and obvious error. To me it’s not obvious that the scorer is past the central defender’s back foot, but the angle isn’t great.
@@user-ls1bz6fb1l If I'm not mistaken, every goal get reviewed by the VAR official (at least if there's any doubt). He or she obviously had no doubts Gutman was on. It was close and I'd understandably be pissed if my team lost a lead so late, but let the game be won on the field. Thank goodness no PKs for once or even iffy fouls conveniently exactly 22 yards from goal. I thought the ref called a pretty good match.

You know what I do now ? I enter the teams two names in the search bar, then right away I block out the screen with my hand, and click on that first video TH-cam gives - That way I don't see the thumbnail

this game was full of uncalled fouls and simultaneously also very aggressive yellow carding. very weird calls / lack of calls.

@@c.kottman7843 haha. I was at the game so I had no idea. I do wish Tommy G would get better at play by play. It’s hard to listen to him sometimes. He misses a lot of the action.
