- Ron Capps is running a special Don “The Snake” Prudhomme Hot Wheels throwback scheme at the U.S. Nationals! We caught up with the two of them how it came about and what it meant for Snake to climb back behind the wheel for a warmup.

This is so cool. I remember the Hot Wheels cars, the yellow Cuda for the Snake and purple Duster for the Mongoose. What a great way to honor a legend.

I was wondering why Snake didn't wack the throttle during his warmup but now I know why. It's just so great to see Snake and Ron together again for the US Nats and to see that nostalgia too.
Huge fan of both these guys. The 7yo me comes out every time I see Don and any Snake 🐍 livery. Best of luck to Ron this weekend. The big question is where do I get my die-cast of this car?
Or decals to put on a model kit.
Snake is the coolest driver ever. Ron is one of the nicest people in the sport
I was was watching the old movie Aloha Bobby and Rose that had the Snakes 1973 car sponsored by Care Free gum it it. He was match racing Billy Meyer.
The SNAKE!!!!! is bad to the bone. I followed him all the time as a kid. Pictures and hot wheels care in my room, too. Ron Capps needs to win now👍
You can tell Don has a lot of years behind the wheel of a Funny Car by the way he keeps his arms inside the bars. Tourists that sit down in a Funny Car for the first time always rest their arms out side the bars because they are not familiar with the sheet metal work of the body coming down on them.
loved the whole idea except, i would of borrowed a charger body from Matt Hagen for this one time.
Wish they hadn’t used a rice burner body. I know they are sponsored by then but the great Don Prudhomme never had a Toyota body.
