Dumpster Pool - setup and liner install

  • The time is finally here to get the dumpster ready for the liner.
To do that I had to remove the bump at one end (where they pull the dumpster onto the truck). We are basically getting a rectangular liner, super easy IMO.
I also cleaned up the welding seams, applied corroseal and then painted all the seams and areas I ground down. I also cut the hole for the skimmer, return and auto-fill.
Angie and I installed 1/8" closed cell wall foam on the inside of the dumpster to smooth things out even more. We used a spray foam glue to adhere the foam to the walls.
Once that was done we started on the liner. We thought things were going great but had some hiccups because the corners on the top did not line up with the corners on the floor. It ended up being a twisted rectangle and in no way could it conform properly (as shown in the video).
In my infinite wisdom I started to fill the pool and thought I could fix the corners later. After discussing this with the pool liner supplier (bought the liner from Donehys, built by cardinalpools.com) and after sending them a few more pics (once the pool filled up), they advised to replace it. So, fun times. We will be swapping it out but it will take about 2-3 weeks to get it. Hope it's still warm in Texas when that happens...agh.
In the meantime, I finished the plumbing and ran the pool equipment for several days. Just for fun, I will keep the pool filled until we have notification that the liner is on it's way.
We'll provide future video on the final setup and finishing details.
In the meantime, we will be working on the railing on the back of the deck and the stairs. Another future video. The day I am publishing this video we had pretty good storm last night and the back is super muddy and difficult to mess with. Either way, we will be installed at least the railing supports and will do more tomorrow (welder required - meaning the tractor as well).
PS: our metal guys are not making us happy! They took on several jobs in San Antonio and put us on the back burner. We have too much $ going with them so have little choice than to wait on them. Can't wait for that capture to be closed - it's been VERY frustrating and we also realized we need another 38-40 sheets of blue! AGH!!!!
Thanks again for watching and as always, thanks for the support from friends and family.
    CYA
