Grohl continued: “The last few days, we’ve been asking ourselves the same question after every rehearsal. We’ve been asking, ‘God, I wonder what Taylor would think of this? I wonder what Taylor would think to see all of these amazing people together making music.”
Grohl then ushered on an example of what he had just been talking about. “One of the people he recorded with not too long ago is here tonight to do a song I’m sure a lot of you know,” he said. “Would you please welcome Mr Mark Ronson to the stage right now.” He also introduced Jane’s Addiction’s Chris Chaney, Jason Falkner, backing vocalists Barbara, Sam and Laura, and his daughter, Violet Grohl.
The musicians walked down the runway of the stage to gather together. “I guess this one’s for all the legends tonight and if you wanna sing along with Violet and the rest of us, please feel free,” Ronson said before starting the cover of The Zutons’ ‘Valerie’.
"Valerie" is a song by English indie rock band the Zutons from their second studio album, Tired of Hanging Around (2006). The song was later covered by Mark Ronson, with lead vocals provided by Amy Winehouse, reaching number two on the UK Singles Chart in 2007.
The song's title and theme refer to an American friend of McCabe's who was in trouble for driving under the influence. The band's drummer, Sean Payne, called it a "musical postcard to her, saying he is having a hard time and can she come over and see him." In an interview with Vice magazine in June 2019, the subject of the song was revealed to be celebrity makeup artist Valerie Star. She explained that she met McCabe and how she got arrested for driving on a suspended license.

She is so wonderful here, it's almost like a double tribute, the concert is for Taylor and the song is for Amy, the fact all of Wembley sang along just show how much London still loves and misses Amy Winehouse, so beautiful.

The connection with the crowd. It’s everything. To have an intimate connection with a stadium crowd like that. That’s what it’s about. Tens of thousands of people singing along with you and the band. There is no more beautiful and moving experience than that in my mind. It’s transcendental. Awesome job.

Tonight is the first time that I am seeing Violet and her singing... I think Dave Grohl is an awesome dude. Violet has a great voice and she seems so shy about her talent. It's on my bucket list to be able to sing and perform in front of a lot of people someday, but it takes some serious guts to get out there and do it!
Of course, it helps if you have a very famous frontman father.

OMG she comes off like she doesn’t want to be there. Low energy and zero emotional inflection. The crowd made the song better and let’s give props to the background singers (and the musicians were fantastic). Ms. Grohl from 3rd base will do well if she puts in the work. If the name wasn’t Grohl I would have tuned out after the first few bars. It’s a MEH for me.
i cut her some slack, coz that was the biggest crowd shes sung infront of... and knowing it was being streamed too.. she was quite overwhelmed when she first came out to sing Buckleys "Last Goodbye" ...she stumbled a bit a the beginning on it, but holy hell did she make up for it... ive never heard anyone be able to sing that as good as Jeff did, but she fuckin nailed it!

I didn't get that at all watching this. Also keep in mind the purpose of why she was there singing (in memory of someone she knew her whole life who passed away). Obviously she wanted to be there.
