The F6F Hellcats, flown by Navy and Marine Corp Pilots remained the only Naval Fighter in the Pacific onboard Carriers, until early 1945. The Hellcat was designed after study of a captured Zero fighter. When introduced, it could outclimb, out-roll, out dive and outrun, the Japanese A6M5 variants that saw any action at all. If the Hellcat could drag a Zero into a high-speed turn (nearing 300mph) or climbing right turn, the Hellcat could out-turn the Zero purely on horsepower, boosted controls and seating position. Japan's later A7M variants would never see action owing to many factors. This is why the Hellcat got over 5000 kills during WW2; it was the most numerous naval fighter plane out there over the water. Marine Corp pilots used the Hellcat and Corsair with consummate skill in both air and attack roles, as is the duty of VMF units, but only USMC Hellcat's flew from Carriers till early '45. how about you fix "dead" helicopters so they die for real? i am sick as hell by getting killed long after the heli has been declared dead. especially that hideous ka50 is an absolute abomination
It's really the same thing that happens to planes, they can lose a wing and be called dead, but still be totally able to fly if the Pilot knows what to do, especially when it comes to Heli's losing their tail/rotor, you can still fly without one with difficulty, or of course the ka50 doesn't even need it's tail to stay airborne
Isn't the most important part of naval fighters the fact they can, you know, take off and landing from carriers? And they aren't even mentioned. This is just a selection of planes bounded by something in common, but that common thing is not relevant for this video. And talking about carriers, can we please get some more modern carriers? For the newer planes being introduced?
the F-4 phantom was originally was developed for the US navy and the marines, but was integrated into the Air Force later on, so calling the f-4 a naval fighter would be wrong considering the fact that the Air Force operated variants not built for the navy.
They should definitely make a map with just carriers and no island that only carrier aircraft can play because that would be fun rather than getting shot in the engine and dying from the engine overheating in a normal plane because you couldn’t land on the carrier
The F9F-2 Flies well without a wing, 4 cannons in the nose, WEP, Maneuverable. INSANELY DURABLE (well, in real life. They Landed on carriers without a whole wing, with over 260 holes from MiG cannons too.) It makes me wonder why they did so good against MiG’s in real life. They are not as fast as the MiG, and so its easy for a MiG to out turn you at high speeds to loop on your tail. I wonder that because of all the famous panther pilots. Royce Williams, Ted Williams, Neil Armstrong, Etc...
peice of history the royal navy had to show the US navy how to use its corsairs from carriers .........................................While the US Navy took a more cautioned approach, the British Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm introduced the Corsair fighters first. This move was largely because while the US Navy had the proven F6F Hellcat fighters, the British existing carrier fighters were less capable. 424 Corsair fighters were also given to the British Commonwealth Forces of New Zealand. British and Commonwealth operational experiences were fed back to Chance Vought, the manufacturers of the model, while British pilots shared an alternate landing technique with the US Navy. It was then that the US navy began adopting them for carrier service. As the Japanese began operating Special Attack tactics, the now-nicknamed "Sweethearts of the Marianas" began to display their strengths as their faster speed and climb rate were much better suited for intercepting special attack aircraft than anything else in the Allied arsenal.
There is Just a problem with that, and that is WHAT IS CONSIDERED A MODERN SHIP !?!?!? Ships arent as easily replaced as like a plane or tank, they are exoensive in both recources and money. Look at the current US aircraft carriers! Designed for an Operation al life of 50 years in the USN and then ANOTHER decade or two in another Navy

@@Ko_Kasumi The difference between the B7A2 and the F-4E is that the B7A2 was designed to operate from carriers, the F-4E isn't; it may be able to land on a carrier, but it won't be able to be launched off it since it lacks equipment to use the catapults.
@@Orca19904 Depending on the power to weight of the plane it could be possible to launch without a catapult, actually there are modern carriers that don't have a catapult system and instead just use a slight ramp
My fav Naval fighters is F6F-5N, that because Hellcats is my fav fighters in ww2, i use Hellcats so much in Tanks until i get P-47M and Ad-4 and still use her in Naval.
The Capability of carrying wide variation of rockets, bombs, even Torpedo makes it an excellent fighter to use in mixed battle and it have radar, and boy i really like to use it in Simukator and surprised attack even Me-262 with it, it also quite durable, one time i was chasing Ju-288 in simulator, after i shot it down i just realized that i lost half of my wing, so bassicaly i chase that Ju-288 with half wing.
Me, a Japanese player, sees video title: " oh finally our time to shine!"
Video: Showcases...two Japanese naval fighter and the rest are practically Americans
Me: "Fffffuuuuu-"
To be fair there weren't many natal fighters for Japan (A5M, A6M, and the never deployed A7M) while there is a bunch of em (F2F, F3F, F4F, F4U, F6F, after war jets) for the Americans
@@user-uv5ld3cx5t ITS NOT ABOUT NUMBERS , ITS ABOUT QUALITY !
THATS WHT THERE SHOULD'VE BEEN THE ZERO !
@@StevieTheBush " ITS NOT ABOUT NUMBERS , ITS ABOUT QUALITY !" Ah yes, go say that to the F6F with a ratio of 11:1 during WWII. After 41 the Zero was just a joke for the US, it's not surprising to only see the A7M and not the other Zeros. The US naval fighters are just better in all aspect other than turn rate.
@@Clement9892 When the F6F was made
1) the zero was already old
2) the americans knew how to fight the zero ( at high speed )
And i recomand you to compair the american fighters with the zero before saying that they were better at every aspect :
The zero was 1000% more manouvrable
The zero had at first the haviest possible armament
The zero had at first the biggest range
And the zero was faster than some F6Fs
And saying that the american fighters had a k/d ratio of 11:1 is already SF
They had , in deed high ratious not because they were better but because they were more than the zeroes in the air
And that ratio is not for americans VS zero , its for americans vs japanese
If you particulary make a ratio for every zero you will see that they outperformed the american fighters
And the video its about planes at certain ranks , its not historical
In the game the zero its the best at its Br and was the best until mid 1941
Please understand that its not about history but about Br
日本人?
You forgot the F4U Corsair, an amazing fighter due to being able to reach top speeds even at lower altitudes
have to add in the Warthunder aircraft carrier compatible with 60's jets
My question is this when will carriers such as midway and kitty hawk class be introduced
I Respect you so much guys for make in this game and make videos to help player to be come better. You are the best guys
one aircarft not yet in WT and changed naval strategy is the harrier jump jet used in the falklands by the royal navy in 1982 against french made mirages and american made sky hawks
I *need* FW-190 with a torpedo (preferably U14).
Please...
All Focke Wulfs should get the bombs they could carry irl
@Preposterous Altercation No, only the A-5 U-2 and the F-8 get bombs. In real life all of the FW-190s got bombs apart from the A-1 I think
how about you fix "dead" helicopters so they die for real? i am sick as hell by getting killed long after the heli has been declared dead.
especially that hideous ka50 is an absolute abomination
It's really the same thing that happens to planes, they can lose a wing and be called dead, but still be totally able to fly if the Pilot knows what to do, especially when it comes to Heli's losing their tail/rotor, you can still fly without one with difficulty, or of course the ka50 doesn't even need it's tail to stay airborne
The seahawk is landing from the front LMAO
I had a lot of fun with the French variant of the sbd dauntless. When can I expect a climbing the ranks for French aircraft?
The Etendard the “highly agile” french jet that you shafted as all french stuff but the game is the most ReaLiSTiC wowowowoowow
Bob semple
Well but what use can you give to the naval properties of these aircrafts if in Air RB you rarely get battles which involved aircraft carriers.
After you post this video i was downloading war thunder at my ps4
F3D is my favourite. Have absolutely fallen in love with that plane...
Hey Gaijin! Can you please consider adding rudimentary cruise missiles to the game? For example the He-111 could carry the V-1 flying bomb.
Hs293 guided missile. 500kg warhead with a rocket motor and the same guidance system as the Fritz X
France is missing all of its naval props...
I have some naval fighters but everytime i go to battle, there is no Aircraft carrier. Where can i even find the Aircraft carriers?
They should definitely make a map with just carriers and no island that only carrier aircraft can play because that would be fun rather than getting shot in the engine and dying from the engine overheating in a normal plane because you couldn’t land on the carrier
I agree with one of the guys below, it would be great to have airplane arcade battles at sea, not just air support in naval battles.
Super good videos. Keep on going
The F9F-2
Flies well without a wing, 4 cannons in the nose, WEP, Maneuverable. INSANELY DURABLE (well, in real life. They Landed on carriers without a whole wing, with over 260 holes from MiG cannons too.)
It makes me wonder why they did so good against MiG’s in real life. They are not as fast as the MiG, and so its easy for a MiG to out turn you at high speeds to loop on your tail.
I wonder that because of all the famous panther pilots. Royce Williams, Ted Williams, Neil Armstrong, Etc...
D4Y2, thing never disappoints in naval mixed battles.
Honestly, people sleep on the F4F-3, thing might not be the best at anything, but it can turn surprisingly well, and 4 .50s do a lot of work
Excellant dive speed too
You didn't even mention the A6M Zero the the F4F Wildcat
They did that because apparently versatility for A2G operations is something you definitely need for a *fighter*
Tach's F2A buffalo can be referred to as the new guys introduction to premium, it was literally the first premium I bought all the way back in 2013
peice of history the royal navy had to show the US navy how to use its corsairs from carriers .........................................While the US Navy took a more cautioned approach, the British Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm introduced the Corsair fighters first.
But the f4 ej is not a naval fighter... It's tail hook is for emergency landing only.
I love naval fighters

You have to add new aircraft carriers in the game compatible with the new naval jets
What's the point of naval aircraft when you can fly any aircraft you want even in Sim battles.
That's a really good point, I feel like naval maps should be for naval aircraft only.
Where was the F4u corsair?! It's ome of the best for sure! O_O
Really like the f 3d1 because it has radar and its a great turn fighter, and it can hold the 2 tiny Tim’s as well as other bombs
Will you had naval fighter only maps for simulator battle ? It woulf be really cool to see some of the greatest pacific air battle in game
0:35 "when it comes to speed and.. agimity"
My favorite naval fighter is the Fw-190T, the naval variant of the Fw-190 that could carry bombs or torpedos. Please add the Fw-190T.
What missile overload can we expect on the top tier missiles in a few months?
F4f3 is my favorite fighter in the game. I use it for air and ground realistic.
We need modern ships!
Not a good idea cuz amecian modern ships can f up even jets and destroy naval top tier with it’s lazer anti-air
And Russia will probably also destroy top tier with its missiles that almost every modern russian destroyer has
Modern ships only throw missiles at each other from 20 km sooo....Please do not reproduce...
There are ways to avoid those missiles
Agustin Hildebrandt
Not if you’re a ship you’re 100% dead if a missile come at you while being a ship
I know it wasnt very good at landing on carriers because of the long nose thats why the Marines used them but I like the F4U Corsair
Will you update the aircraft carrier to the new generation?
Can we get modern carriers now that we are in this topic lol?
Ah, the good old F2A-3 the plane that couldn’t turn, couldn’t Climb, and it could only dive. Did you see what happened at midway.
we all know that the best naval fighter is the firebrand
For the love of God Gaijan, add in a system where you can choose between Naval Air battles and Land Air Battles! If I wanted to play over Battle of the Bulge I’d use a Mustang!
