So much I could say about this album. This mans is a master of the key change and the deceptive progression for starters. Soundscape is mesmerizing, the hooks are all instantly iconic, and even with all the rich jazz chords there isn't a single moment that's too dissonant. The drops and grooves make me move every. single. time. It's the perfect blend of modern progressive rock and classic jazz/classical elements punctuated with the always welcome retro synths. Every single track is a banger. This is probably my favorite instrumental rock album of all time.
@@BurntMcgurnt uh okok i see, well that s a relief because if he knew less, i d leave guitar🤣🤣🤣🤣 what he does is extremely tough from the point of view of theory, requires a lot of study. Thanks for the info btw👌🏼
I love love love the intro to Born in Space. It's just so chill. And it only exceeds my expectations from there. Between artists like Intevals, Plini, Widek, Micic, The Helix Nebula, Owane, etc... (Dare I say it... even Polyphia...) There's never been a better time to be an instrumental/prog/fusion metal/metalcore jazz/djent/thelick-core/whateveryouwannacallit fan!
I just call it a fan of music my brother. Original is original. You can dance from those beautiful bands you mentioned to Meshuggah or Death very easily,or Al Di Meola and Herbie Hancock, or King Crimson and ELP. The best kind of music and the greatest emotions share the same thing, they cannot be described only experienced.
I don't get it.. What's the deal with Polyphia ? I think they're pretty awesome even amongst all the bands out there doing really crazy advanced stuff musically
My introduction to fusion was the original Chick Corea's Elektric Band album. I've been looking ever since for the next level of THAT specific album. Owane has provided this.
this is pure gold. when tecnhique and emotion meet like this, music becomes a true spiritual experience, capable of taking your mind to so many places. We thank you for this perfect masterpiece
I love this album, some tracks have a very "japanese Jazz Fusion" feel to them, some sections even remind me of T-Square and Casiopea. I hope i'm not talking nonsense here...

Love this!! I've been a fan of musicians like Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock etc. for many years. I was having an electrocardiogram 4 days ago & it's usually boring. The young man doing the test was playing music (yeah) and ask what I wanted to hear. I like most everything & left it up to him. Wow! This is what he played! I'd never heard of Owane & was blown away! It certainly made the time go by quickly but made it difficult to not move! He was excited I loved it and made sure he wrote down what we'd been listening to. Oh, and he's also a drummer.
