Quadro 4 first expereince test

  • In Apr 2018, together with my friend, we tested Quadro 4 scooter as a commuting bike. I made around 10 km on this day with this 4 wheeler.
    Unfortunately, our disappointment was immediate. However, let's not forget that we arrived with high expectations and experience of years of riding strong motorbikes (recently Honda VFR 1200 crosstourer).
    It is a very interesting concept from a Swiss company and I see a nice future for this 4 wheeler bike. However, they should put more attention to details and re-consider a price level.
    PS: sorry for a typo on one slide

    Does it needs 2 wheels at the rear with 2 transmissions? Does the 2 wheels give more stability compare to 1 wheel at the rear? I think 2 wheels in front and 1 wheel at the rear can do the same job with less components. Pls correct me if i'm wrong. Nice video.

      Well, this is the question manufacturers try to answer and provide solutions to the market. I believe that 4 wheels is better for stability than 3 and it likely can help during turning/tilting in corners especially on wet surface. However, more parts in the scooter, more point of potential error. However, we all trust in manufacturers that they tested their products and provide warranty and don't forget that nothing lasts forever :)

      I like the idea of 4 wheels because then you have only 2 tracks on the road vs 3 for a 3 wheeler as the 2 rear tracks will be in line with the front ones - this means navigating over small rocks and so on is easier as you can just straddle them. There is an old saying 4 wheels good 3 wheels bad.

      It only has one transmission but with the addition of a differential with 2 outputs.
      I would add that more rubber = more grip, which is always desirable either cornering or braking. The trade off is that a differential instead of a direct drive and the extra wheel means a little extra weight = a little less efficiency.
      As with all engineering, it's one thing traded for another. The final choice really depends on what the end user prioritises.

    • @martinesproduction
      @martinesproduction  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, I'm not sure if you would be allowed by the law to ride it with only one leg, but definitely you could do it without left leg (right leg is useful for breaking and of' course to get on and off). With regards to availability in India, you can check their website www.quadrovehicles.com/dealers or send them a query if an individual transport could be made to you. Good luck!

      :) I think the company is struggling with business expansion. The quick upgrade is needed with this model (improved quality, increased power, better comfort) or they will be forgotten by the market in the upcoming electric motorbikes world.

    • @martinesproduction
      @martinesproduction  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Indeed, and this is even 4 wheels, so in theory better. The main point also is to have motorcycle feeling, tilting, which is present in this type of scooters.

    the concept is dead largely due to overpricing and a pronounced lack of power. really interesting concept

    • @martinesproduction
      @martinesproduction  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think that the concept is dead. I agree that the lack of power and price level are not with market's expectations, but concept itself is great. I'd love to have such scooter/motor for that money with double power and slightly increased quality of materials.
