Sand Cat - The True Nomad of the Desert

The sand cat (Felis margarita), also known as the sand dune cat, is a small wild cat that inhabits sandy and stony deserts far from water sources. With its sandy to light grey fur, it is well camouflaged in a desert environment. It usually rests in underground dens during the day and hunts at night. Enjoy!:)

The wildcats (genus Felis) are the largest genus of cat, with seven species recognized, the Jungle Cat (Felis chaus), the Black-Footed Cat (Felis nigripes), the Sand Cat (Felis margarita), the Chinese Mountain Cat (Felis bieti), the Asiatic Wildcat (Felis ornata), the European Wildcat (Felis silvestris), and the African Wildcat (Felis lybica (cladistically including the Domestic Cat (Felis lybica catus)).
