CC helps. Slowing the speed down is also an option. Prior familiarity with many of his points is also probably a help, at least in my/our case. I took a break at 13:22 to see how others reacted which also corresponds to points he makes in his talk. Going to finish it now. ... (I'm back ) Reaction: important talk; take it very seriously.

Excellent talk, not sure what some folks are complaining about in terms of accent, he spoke perfectly well. The research was great too, he made so much science accessible and clear to lay people like us. Thanks for the talk!!

Bro I want to answer your question only because I know it, Actually attention is our own self means, we are attention. Attention is soul. Means our Self or Spirit.More precisely the outward expression of soul is attention. I hope you get the answer.

The takeaway message I concluded... which the speaker did not include in his presentation.. is this: 1. Be aware of how your attention wanders from one theme to the other 2. Question what is most relevant and important for you to do 3. Try to focus on that task thru to its completion while blocking out all other attention-stealers

This is a very nice talk. We became humans when we developed large frontal lobes. Now when I get districted or do spontaneously meaningless movements, i understand that these are a result of the default systems in my brain. Hopefully, it will help me to focus and let the executive areas function better. I also relate to stress inhibiting frontal lobes. It’s difficult to focus when I’m tired or excited.

distraction (absorbed attention) takes you to an "ego existence" where you trully believe you are the character that reacts in this fixated way to your environment.
Travels or multiple envoirments can show you, that you are a non fixated existence, and may show you your true flavours .

the body awares reality. the attention is nothing more then physical body energy focused. with proper awareness you don't need too attempt too remember. you don't forget. the attention being a construct of imagination it by itself cannot aware reality. the body automatically does. they call the attention the objective viewpoint. its not. its very subjective. awareness is not subjective. in Zen they call it the ego. awareness does not try too decipher reality. the attention is slow compared too awareness as awareness does all automatically. the attention is and has always been a false doctrine/teaching.

Mr. Markovic, I completely agree with your summary of the speaker. The subject matter was very interesting and important however, the pronunciation that the speaker has in the English language makes it very difficult to understand him and to grasp what he saying. I would wish for the speaker to slow down first so that my brain can comprehend what he just said. I also have to say about this particular video is that the speaker did not seem to be well prepared. He read too much from his notes and many times it seemed like he lost his place, making it even more difficult for me to follow him.
I have to give this a thumbs down because the message was not clear I have to do a lot more research on the subject because the speaker did not accomplish his goal.
