How to REPAIR THAT LARGE AC HOLE so nobody knows it was ever there

  • This is part two where we close in the large hole left by the removal of the heavy 15,000 btu air-conditioner as shown in last weeks video.
    Closing in a hole is a lot easier than most people may think and with just a few simple tools you should be able to perform this job yourself.
    We did use power tools to perform this job, but they are not necessary however, they do speed things up quite a bit and add a level of accuracy.
    We hope you enjoyed this weeks video and if you have a similar project with questions, please ask them in the comment section below.
    Here are some of the tools we used in this video:
    Paslode framing nailer: amzn.to/3Co5ETd
    Vinyl siding removal tool: amzn.to/39jRPc4
    Osmo Action Camera used to record video: amzn.to/3lAb5HP
    Cheers,
    Bob

    Very good video. But the part I was really interested in is how to repair the vinyl siding. You played in high speed making a very difficult to see what you did. It would be great if you had a little of that in regular speed and then sped it up.
    Thank you

    Great video Bob. Quick question, did they remove the a/c because they upgraded to central, or was it just an eyesore for them?

    Thanks for the video. Can the hole be enlarged? I have a very old unit that’s now shot and the updated model is about an inch wider then the hole from the old unit

    what if you have a steel frame house how do you do it then?. I have 3 ( air-cons)that need taking out and the holes patching

  • @42x3
    @42x3 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    While I’d love to be able to do this myself, I am completely uncoordinated and would probably make the hole bigger. How much does this patch work usually cost? I have a small one and a large one I would love to get rid of.

    Thanks for the video. I'm doing just that (taking out a 15000 BTU a/c) this week. Just one question about the insulation: isn't the paper supposed to face the inside of the home?

    • @DAMusic-qu2ec
      @DAMusic-qu2ec 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, paper goes towards the finished space.

      @@DAMusic-qu2ec At 4:42 It looks like the insulation is facing the wrong way.

      Does the AC unit at your rental no longer function? I'm quite certain if you rented a place that has an appliance in it, it must work, but that may change state by state; check with your local housing authority, but remember, if your too much of a pest they may try to evict as well.
      Cheers,
      Bob
