The Chanel GST and Deauville are arguably two of the most popular and desired tote bags from the brand. Whilst different in style, they're both strong contenders for exceptionally well-made designer bags.
The Deauville bag has more of a casual vibe, where the GST feels perfectly at home in the office and in smarter environments. I’ve been searching for a long time. I knew this one was meant to be, it just popped up randomly. Also 2012 is the year I met my partner so I thought it was nice numerology. (Not that I’m into that stuff)!

I love the GST. It’s a smaller tote and looks dressy with the yellow gold hardware. Gives me 90s chanel glam vibes. The deauville you’ve shown is beautiful. I did see it in boutique and contemplated buying it, but I generally don’t like to spend money on canvas bags, especially in cream - I just don’t trust myself lol. However, if someone gifted me that bag and I was jet setting and on a yacht somewhere, it would be perfect lol.Instead, I bought the deauville in light grey leather and am reserving it for travel and as a “throw everything in” bag for when I need it.

I always wanted the caviar leather tote but after watching this video it’s a little fancy for every day and I don’t go into the office anymore either. I do have the Chanel Deville tote and black fibers that is my every day tote. But I can’t justify Using that tote for the beach considering the price.
I have a GST and can fit my MacBook Pro 13" in it. An additional con of the GST is that when wearing it on the shoulder, one strap will inevitably fall off. It can be annoying to continue to put the strap back on your shoulder all the time. I will echo another con is that the weight of the bag buckles on itself and starts to "slouch" if you will, so it begins to look worn.
Thank you for the review of the GST and Deauville. Very informative. I finally realized why I rarely use the GST. Because I do have NF DA MM and DE GM, which I use for shopping and work sometimes. I bought the GST mainly for the color- grey. Enjoy your video 💝💕

No... silver hardware. I wish it was light gold hardware. I don’t believe the grey came in gold hardware though. But I am not 💯 %

There is no way I would use a Chanel Deauville for the beach. I currently use a free bag I got with designer perfume.

I would definitely go for the GST, but I wouldn't use it for a work bag on a regular basis. The color of the other one is a big NO for me. I do like the Deauville, but I can't seem to find a purpose for it with all my tough wearing Neverfulls and YSL Tote.
Very true, the LV bags are a lot more care free! I still love the Deauville on the right occasion.
wow both are stunning but something about the GST is just impeccable! I have the Deauville in navy blue / leather with gold and I love it! but the GST is so understated wish the Deauville would come with a more subtle logo ;) but both are stunning!!! that pearl detail on yours is gorgeous

Hey babe! Loved this video!! Especially because I’m thinking of getting the cream deauville. Do you mind my asking how the wear and tear has been? I know it can get dirty but is the canvas durable even with use? I worry it can fray with heavier items. Also, did you use any spray protector on it? Thanks in advance for any advice you might have!

I love the Chanel Deauville in that colour but I would be worried about it getting marked, looks like it might be hard to clean? They are both beautiful though!
It can be spot dry cleaned apparently so I am nervous to use it but I like the idea of can be cleaned too.
