I agree with most everything. 1. shoes: you totally have to pick something that works with your actual life, not your fantasy life. Its harder than you think isn't it? :) 2. There can never be enough fine jewelry. 3. Belts are tough for those of us over 90cm in size. I lurk preloved and that has proved quite successful. I'm still yting to get a new blank ofr the Hermes belt I've (cough) outgrown but they seem to only have 85 or under at any given visit. 4. Designer sunglasses are fun but be honest with yoursefl. I you leave yours all over and forget about them constantly its probably best to save your coin and get a knockoff. 5. Balmain blazers are passe. Go custom on a blazer where you can choose every aspect. Do not do oversized at that price point. The trend never lasts long enough and come back different each time. 6. A good wool coat is essential. 7. Avoid Chanel. Expensive, poor quality and the seem to hate the people that give them money. The trick with bags is understanding what style will work best for you. You can love the look of a bag but find it will make you mental trying to use it. Be honest and really look around.
During winter the cheapest most luxury item you can buy which will last you for year's is leather gloves! Honestly they elevate any coat or look and can be found for as little as £12. I've bought cheap and expensive ones and they are just the same. Tan leather looks instantly expensive but any colour that suits your items elevates everything. My 2nd tip is an expensive belt. People assume the whole outfit matches the belt. They can be really expensive but are an investment. I've passed mine on to my daughter. They last years.
I started wearing wedges a few years ago exclusively. They are so much easier on your feet than heels but you can still have some height. I’m only 5’5” and my husband is over 6 feet. So I like some height. With wedges the angle is more forgiving.
I am 56 yrs old. I have a acquired a nice inventory of luxury bags since my 20s. I've purchased some of those "entry level" LV bags you showed in more recent years because I love the timeless style of a speedy, neverfull and noe, and their practicality. But they were not first time luxury bag purchases for me. I don't believe there's an order in which to purchase luxury goods. Labeling them as such forces the assumption. Don't you think? Just had to give my feedback😉
I find I wear my designer sneakers the most often so better cost per wear. I wore out a pair of Golden Goose and Common Projects ones so just bought the Loewe ones you mentioned. I was shocked how comfortable they were as usually I have to break them in. Not with these! Like walking on a cloud. I got the nude ones with black accents and white laces. They are are neutral and go with everything. I wore them 3 x’s in 1 week.
Terrific recommendations, Steph. I love that a person can taylor these to fit their lifestyle and budget. Good quality is the best takeaway as well as being thoughtful before you buy. That one trips me up the most. Thanks for sharing these hacks!
Steph, first off, your makeup looked STUNNING. Love it! And this video hit very true for me. I bought one pair of red soles and they were so uncomfortable I only wear them when I have to do little walking. I have purchased more boots and flats from Hermes and Chanel and love those and find myself reaching for those a lot. And I agree with the mid range as well as the higher end pieces that you reach for more. For Chanel, I love the tote styles because they work well for me as a mom but now am looking into more unique styles I can wear on date nights to add variety. I just bought my first resale Chanel 19 and really fell in love with the style of it! Great video as always!
Aww thank you Tina! Yes the desire for some gorgeous red bottoms is real but over time you realise they mostly aren't worth it. I get much more use from my more useable luxury shoes. Congrats on your 19 bag on resale, what size / colour did you go for?
I just found your channel and I love a lot of your suggestions. I was looking for affordable but real gold jewelry, so this was quite helpful with the Idyl recommendations. Will you do a video on clutches? I’m looking forward to watching more videos!
A classic black one? I agree, a well-fitted blazer is never going to be out of style and the silhouette of the Balmain is perfection. I just need to take my additional buttons off, and I think I may wear it more as it'll be a tad more classic looking
@@Handbagholic - Yes, I would have to get a black one I think. I’ve recently treated myself to a preloved Chanel Diana in Black Caviar, so will need to save up for a while for the Jacket 😂🤞🤩❤️
My biggest recent purchase was some Chanel specs there varfocal so they really were needed and as I wear them for work I can kind of justify the cost ❤
I purchased a dupe Kelly belt and did not like it, because it would not stay cinched. As soon as I would sit down, it would readjust itself. Does the Hermes one do the same?
That was a great video idea Steph! Can you maybe do another with more designer sneaker ideas besides the ones you mentioned. Low (ha!), medium and high price ranges.
How do you make the shoes not slip. I notice that when you wear the heels you shift a bit in them. What do you suggest for those getting started (or have issues) with heels?
Totally agree with so much of this, especially the shoes, i spent far too much on heels i was visually in love with but wore seldomly before i started to purchase trainers and more casual shoes from the same loved brands. I cant say i don't still buy designer heels just because they are stunning though but for running around London comfort is king.
The old Loubs are horrible! Regret every pair. However I did buy the Masca sandals and they are stunning and comfortable! Looking at the LV stadium sneaker. Any experience? Wondering if they’re true to size/comfortable…
Yeah I would have been much better trying sandals / trainers from Louboutin. Sadly I havn’t tried the Stadium sneaker keep me updated if you get them 👍
Why would anyone want luxury everyday wear, esp runners? I'd wear a practical pair of runners daily and bring out the diamonds, luxury dress, bag and shoes for my best guest look.
I had the same idea as you, but my lifestyle means the guest shoes hardly get any wear. My luxury trainers however, get lots of wear and I love them. I prefer wearing my Hermes for days luxury shopping than nikes for example - which I’d use for the gym.
Agree with Steph, I've wasted so much money on luxury for 'best' that hardly ever got used, but my Gucci trainers are one of my best lux purchases ever!
This is the first time I've watched your channel. Loved the content, although it's unlikely I'll buy any of those items at least I know what to keep my eyes open for. Really well presented and I loved the jewelry pieces! I totally agree about fine jewelry. I feel like all my costume jewelry is a total waste.
Oh fabulous, so great to have you here and thanks for sharing your thoughts. For sure, fine jewellery is the way for me now, some of it is the same price as designer costume jewellery so it makes sense
There are a lot of us who are allergic to custom. It doesn't matter if it's a name brand or if it's a posh brand there are some of us like me who are allergic to costume joy and can only wear precious meadows like silver and gold and platinum
I have the Lena and the chain an extra one because it fits the tiny bale of a diamond pendant that was handed down to me without a chain and Idyl fits perfect
Haha yes they can become addictive! My three main pairs are all very similar. Luckily I’ve always loved the cat eye / oversized style and found that early
Great information and style education! I personally don’t spend on designer shoes- it seems that is a splurge I still can’t quite justify 😊…Your other suggestions are awesome. As a Floridian I must have a huge selection of designer sunnies! 😎 And less blazers. Let’s face it- BAGS are Number One!!😂🎉
Agree with the jewellery. Gladly I inherited a lot of jewellery, did them get remodelled (sold some pièces also) ... I never wanted or saw a need for unreal costume jewellery...
Excellent recommendations Steph! I can’t wait to take a closer look at all the goodies through your links! I am in love with a Dior trench coat (30 Montaigne) in beige. It is definitely an investment piece but it is so incredibly beautiful. I love a trench that is cinched at the waist. Btw, I am loving the longer vlogs! ♥️
So glad you like them Ruth! Oh the trench sounds incredible, like you say an investment piece they are timeless. So long as you get great cost per wear. Keep me updated would love to see. 💖
All good advice, the only three items I'd vary are: 1) 'Designer' jackets and coats - skip those and aim for a bespoke tailored jacket and coat. Starting prices for bespoke are higher, often more than double what you'd pay for ready-to-wear 'high end designer', but what you DO get is something perfectly cut for you, and unique. 2) Louis Vuitton is tacky and has no class, sorry. That logo is all over the place, I'd avoid.
Great tips ; however I love my Chanel and Hermes costume jewelry they add a pizzazz to any outfit; that being said , it’s always great to have “ fine” jewelry in your wardrobe 😊
I’m the complete opposite to you. I refuse to buy costume jewellery. To me the point of jewellery is for it to be unique, bespoke, unbranded and made with precious metals and/or precious stones/semi precious. I won’t even buy Cartier for this reason.
I came across your website last week. I ❤ every one of your videos. I am laughing about the Christian Louboutin shoes. I have four pairs but bought them on sales from Neiman Marcus. I hardly wear 😢
Wow Wow Steph what a beautiful bags and especially I really really love that Black Colour Heels you are my inspiration and I wish you have a blessed weekend🥹🥹🥹
I have to disagree with one thing mentioned during the trainers section. Why be uncomfortable in sneakers? That just knocks the Hermes into an absolutely no column. The lock isn’t worth it.
I agree, but I find all tennis style shoes that are ‘smarter’ are never as comfortable as sports trainers. The Hermes are some of the comfiest tennis style sneakers I have but I can only do alllll day in sports style trainers and remain comfortable
Hey, oh my thanks for flagging. They are rendered out in 1080p but you're right, the option isn't there on TH-cam. I'll have to sort that, thanks again.
Your boots don't fit you! Why would you wear boots that gap & don't tailor to your leg? They look clumsy. You can easily have a Bespoke pair made, or if you have an excellent Cobbler, they can alter leather to fit you!
Not every boot style is meant to hug your leg. I think they look good on her for a non custom boot (maybe if shorten it a fraction. Buying boots is a pita.
@@heysaras I think I'm in the minority - I see so many people wearing boots that don't hug the leg. I am so funny about that! I guess it's just my thing!
I don’t suggest that anyone spends that (unless they want to), I’m sharing my recommendations over 10 years incase someone wants to add a few key pieces to their look. Lots of people buy a few luxury items throughout their lifetime
“With all due respect” ep-79, why did you click on this video if you’re not interested in the response? That’s like me clicking on a video about chairs and then saying “who wants a chair anyway” 😅🙄
I mean, they are a white pair of sneakers with some detail on so not sure what warrants hideous but cool, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Clearly we have different tastes

Oh, the heels! The luxury heels that never got worn! Give me lux trainers any day (but only the comfy ones!). 🙌🏼
Exactly! The heels gorgeous. The cost per wear - tragic 🥴🥴😄
