    Something I learnt, you don't need to hold the food while it eats it for the bar to go up. If you wanna tame it without a trap, you just have to drag the food as close as you can to it then drop it and run when it starts sniffing. I don't recommend this this though because it constantly attacks other creatures and sometimes tricks you into thinking it's after the food you dropped but it's really just after another dino.

    I found a 135 one in Ragnarok and I was so excited. You have no idea about the terror I felt walking up to it with a dead Ovis on my shoulder and see it sniffing, then walking towards me.
    I didn't manage to tame it, the taming percentage went down faster than I could gather corpses, and the corpses I started piling before feeding them to the Carcha weren't nearly enough before the entire plains was empty.
    A sad day. I'll get my Carcha soon enough, I'll just have to find a breeding pair of rexes first :)

    ok this might be too late but here's how someone that has been one month in ark does it consistently, I use baby diplo or baby spino wich are easier to tame as rexes for a early carcha, traps bug them so they sometimes don't ear when trapped, solution is too go out of render and if your lucky enough he will bug out of the trap and ruin your trap, so they way I do it is way easier, us a ghillie suit drag the Dino to him when not on rage let him get the sniff animation once he is going towards you drop the body and he will eat it, make sure that when you ride it you have food and water, you don't want to die of starvation due to cold, remember you might die once you tame him so make sure you have a flier at your base too

    If you have a baby rex, you don't even need a trap, just take it to him and make sure there are no other dinos nearby, wait for him to smell it, release it near him or if he has strong armor, hold the body until he eats it and he goes into taming mode with just one rex.

Another way to get 100% is tame a few low level Rexes, and give them to a player from another tribe to uncryo them in Passive, so you can kill them without worrying to a counter attack.

      Well, Giganotosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus were distant relatives when they were alive, so that's why they are so large.

    Or you can feed it a baby diplo aswell, anything with a high drag weight similar to that of a rex. Then just kill a bunch of brontos or a lot of dinos in a highly populated area that the carcharo can one shot

    It's not fool-proof, the Carcha can get aggro'd on the trap and refuse to eat the dino you're dragging. No trap and clear the area, so it can't aggro to anything 👍

      no unlike other dino's the carchar's taming rate is based on drag weight. So basically the bigger the dino is, the faster it will tame.

  • @Jstylin2

    The last step, send our baby rexs and unclaim them so the charch can kill them. If you group them up its bassicly an instant tame

    In other words, to tame this massive beast, ye gotta go on a massive kill and sacrifice spree, first time I’ve seen this kinda tame in Ark, as of late, it’s definitely something DIFFERENT, as opposed to the old; KO, drug up, and feed.

    If the the carcha kills a wild creature this means it will NOT eat any dragged food for 10 seconds after it killed the wild dino, it will try to kill you instead.

  • @minertop8320

    best strat is to kill a Rex nearby and drag the body to the Carcha let the carcha eat it while you have it grabbed and now you can hop onto the carcha and complete the taming process

    What is the recommended weight upgrade to carry dead dinos. I’m planing to tame Trikes and use them as food.

    • @Nutz2002
      @Nutz2002  ปีที่แล้ว

      the dino's carry weight doesn't change the taming speed! The drag weight changes it. Each dino comes with its own drag weight, so a trike might be 150, where a rex is 175, the higher that number the faster it will tame. You can find more in depth info on the ark wiki!

  • @peppapog8376
    @peppapog8376 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So anyone know if this work still in ASA? I tried it with a level 50 carchar in Official Smalls and a trike only seemed to give it ~25% friendliness and it fell really quick, almost back down to 15% by the time I dragged the second corpse from 10 feet away

    Be very careful with where you place that trap btw. Accidentally put one on a slight slope once and the giga was able to magically levitate its way right out of the trap using nothing but the tip of one claw and sheer force of will.
    It did NOT end well. Lots of dead tribe mates and even more scattering into the forest to take their chances with the sabers and raptors.
