Its been over a week since I thrifted at my favorite Goodwill and the shelves were fully stocked! Its late morning on Saturday and the store was really busy, but I found treasure after treasure! The color of the day is purple... all purple tags are half off... and I filled my cart with more than a few amazing things! Learn what to bolo and what to leave on the shelf, and why. Maybe go over to linens and utilize that when they take your cushioning. You can give the linen back when you check out. 🤓

That is exactly what I was going to say. After a few times of doing this they will probably say U can use your blanket!
Or a couple of soft sweaters to cover the bottom of the cart.
Exactly what I do. I always head to the linens section first, then put the blanket back in the reshop bin when I'm checking out. 😊

Just a suggestion...Go down the Soft Goods Isle first. Toss in a Blanket, off the rack for the base of your cart. Then simply do not buy it at the checkout stand. They will eventually catch on. If they don't, you are still protecting the items you have chosen. Happy Hunting:)

I love your channel and never miss it. It is so special that you always take the time to put pieces together when they are separated from their "friends", or in this case take the vase back to the correct section.
Start by Finding a Rug or Towel or Blanket for Cheap to cushion your finds. Then leave it or recycle it.. I would find a small bath mat to cushion my finds... Then tell them I don't want it.. Serves them right for not allowing Recycled bags & cushions in...

Love listing to you as you thrift. If sliver plate has 4 stars it is considered as sterling. Meaning it has been dipped 4 times.

The pyramid piece is a moon snd stars it’s by party lite. They sell good on EBay. I sold one for $30 and another for $50
Someone beat me to it letting you know to go to the bedding area pick one out to use when you are shopping for glass see items people put stuff back all the time so just give him the blanket after your purchase LOL

The wand was pretty amazing!
I do something like that. My close GoodWill runs out of carts first thing in the morning until about noon. What I do is go to the baskets and pick one with a stronger handle. When I get done and checked out, I leave the basket. Once the cashier asked why I didn’t want the basket and not use it. I smiled and said if you had enough carts I would not use the baskets. I’m old and I buy to much to carry. They never said anything after that lol.
That's a great idea! I dropped and broke a tile I had planned to hang in my bathroom because there were no carts. My arms were full. The clerks asked me to call Goodwill downtown to ask for more carts. They had tried but were unsuccessful.
Check out linens and find something to place in the bed of your cart. At least til the policy changes. Better safe than sorry.
It's a dumb policy anyway. But the world nowadays is dumb, so.....whaddya do?

I found the exact elephant at my favorite local thrift store a few weeks ago!! I have had grandchildren all summer and have not listed him yet but I will soon!! They are fabulous!! I couldn’t believe my eyes!! I also got a Viking glass owl the same day!!

The pointy cream ceramic piece with stars and moons is called the galaxy. Its a retro partylite piece. It takes a tea light and shines those shapes on wall and ceiling. It went for $29.95 in the early 90s

Love your videos, I learn a lot. This is just an idea for gardeners, I buy cheap wire items that are baskets, in any shape and preferable tall to put over my plants in the spring to keep the rabbits and deer from eating my tender young plants.
Not all silver plate is to be avoided, look for Sheffield Plate because it is the Rolls Royce of silver plate and is the best quality that you can buy. It will be marked Sheffield.

I live in Fort Wayne, IN. Our local big boy restaurant closed about two years ago. It had a big boy statue out front. we had heard that it had been shipped out to California to the owners daughters home.
If you can't use your blanket, pick one that is in-store to use until check out and just leave it with them. I have done this without issue. Usually if you declare your blanket on entering, they don't have a problem. Love watching your videos!
If she brings it in, she has to check it in and leave it at checkout.

Hello Tiffany, it's really too bad they won't let you use your throw any longer. Perhaps you could go first to the linen rack and grab a blanket that you will not buy, but just use for protection of the breakables? I am also looking forward to seeing how the pie crust table finishes up.

Well drats, no Thrifting Blanket allowed?? Hmmm, here is an idea for that dilemma. First stop; bath/beach towels... Place it in the bottom of the cart to cushion the delicate things. If the towel is big enough you still can fold it over for that "second layer" of treasures. At the check-out counter you can say: Sorry, I don't need the towel and leave it behind. By the way, this was a great haul, and that H.P. Wand did a great job of conjuring up Bandit! LOL, Great fun! Greetings from AZ! (also in monsoon season)
Tiffany since you can’t place your own blanket in the cart next time make a stop in the blanket section and use one of their own blankets to safely place your pieces in the cart to avoid them from breaking 👍👍
Before you go and or whatnots and stuff like that you should go in the linens and get you a towel and lay on the bottom of your cart what is their towels it just you don't purchase it but you can use one of their towels put on the bottom of your cart so that way you can put your stuff that way

I was gonna say the same thing grab several shams or a blanket and explaine thay you choose to cushion your selections. WOW, I looked up the flavor design studios oriental 22 oz noodle bowls $35.00 to $44.00 EACH. unreal.
I have put towels from the store in my cart for many years, when buying glass at thrift stores. As you check out, simply say you no longer want them. I always offer to return the towels to the shelves so I don't make more work for the employees. I even layer more towels and more glass, as I need to do.
After watching your other video where you purchased the pie crust table I was surprised to see someone selling one locally that they had painted. I would have never known what the table was called if I hadn’t watched your video. We had a Bob’s Big Boy restaurant in my home town. Loved their food!
@4:26 I would go to the blanket section and take a blanket or even a towel and put it in your buggy. Just use one of there’s then if you can’t use your own.
Thanks for another fun shopping trip. I've a suggestion for padding those glass items in store. Head to blankets and put one in the bottom of your cart. Then at checkout don't buy it. There's a slight chance you will find a super cool collectable crochet afghan in the process.🙂
Try going by the linens to use one in place of your blanket.
You might find a blanket in the linen section, I don't like to lay down the items in the bare cart either. You don't have to buy it.

I would ask them about your blanket and bags. I have a few here that don't like it but I bring the bags in flattened out and have started bringing my own boxes. I also bring my own plastic bags for cushion.

Since you can’t bring your blanket. Stop by the textiles first you may find something to use that you can reuse elsewhere. A tea towel, market bag, throw etc. or even a t shirt etc. ☺️

Hi. When you enter the store, pick up a blanket you might buy. Then use it to cushion your finds and change your mind about buying it at the register.
Pick up a blanket in store and then leave it at checkout so the glass doesn't get broken.

If they don’t allow your blanket, go to linens section. Grab something to use as a cart liner. When you are checking out tell them you don’t need it. Or find something for a dollar..use it for the cats at home or re-donate it

You forgot that sterling silver can be hallmarked and not say either sterling or 925. Hallmarks can also date it.

Suggestion: Simply Use One of Goodwill's Blankets and return/leave it properly with the Cashier after you're finished placing your desired items on the counter after checking out. Love your videos! It is so frustrating when stores put tape over labels and cardboard boxes. I found something that won't damage tags under tape or stickers. Make my life so much easier! Try undo. I got it from Amazon and it really doesn't hurt anything! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
I went to one of my local thrift stores a few months back and was stopped at the front. They said I had to leave my bag at the front. I said, I'm on oxygen. It's my tank bag. It's not a purse or anything. It's literally used with a medical device.
They actually had the nerve to tell me that didn't matter. That I could take the tank out of its bag and carry it around.
I left and I won't be back.

The elephant at 27:25 is a Tiara Indiana Glass. I have 4 different colors of him, they were made in the early 80's, they have a lid that fits, I know them as a candy dish.
Probably should gave grabbed those Yellowstone mugs. The new season starts in November

Here's an idea why not go to the blankets and use it in your cart until you check out and then choose not to buy it unless you find something you really want.
