    Thanks guys this was some good information. Thank you from Alaska

    I used this method on my Kawasaki impeller, I marked the outer edge of the blade near the wear ring in two places so I could make sure the angle at the leading edge, trailing edge, and center matched between all three blades along with the blade height.
    That may be overkill but it helped me maintain consistency since I was working both ends of the blades.
    Thanks for the video!

      The more points the more accurate. After you do a bunch you kind of get a feel for it.

    Thank you for your time making this great video you can't find any videos for impeller pitching! I will like to see you work on a 4 Blade Sollas Concord impeller. Aslo in Europe you can't find any tool gauges at all, I make mine with siple paper copies of degree angle measurements. 🤜🤛

      @@EricksonMachinePerformance yes I know friend but I need extra 100$ import fee tax plus 60$ shipping and about 150$ the gauge so... That's a new impeller ha ha ha

    so for high elevation lakes like 6200 to 6300 ft above see level, what pitch degree do you angle the props to?

    • @EricksonMachinePerformance
      @EricksonMachinePerformance  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @DarealAGee it depends on the ski , engine and rider. None are a constant .

      @@EricksonMachinePerformance I have a 2024 AR220 that I purchased from St George Utah. I live in New Mexico and the lake I go to often is elevated at 6200ft. at WOT i'm at 6900 RPM I max at 8k. Forums suggested getting another set of impellers set up for my elevation. I don't want to loose too much jump at start but I do want to get little more of my high end speed.

    • @EricksonMachinePerformance
      @EricksonMachinePerformance  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @DarealAGee @ +6000ft of elevation, you're going to lose a bunch of power on non boosted engines. Well on any engine. Just boosted we can crank them up easier. Replacing the props for a lesser pitch will help liven it up and probably give u the best bang for ur buck

      @@EricksonMachinePerformance thanks! i appreciate the info. I'm looking at just getting another set of impellers pitched for my elevation and hold on the originals in case i decide to go lower like to Havasu or the ocean.

    How much do you charge to refurbish a solas 15/20? Leading edges have a few small dings. Nothing big

    Thank you for the vid. Question, I have a built 550 that needs at least 93 pump fuel, but I don’t want to run ethonal fuel. I have an ethanol free fuel station near me that has 90 octane and 110 octane at the pump. Should I just run 110 or should I mix the 90 and the 110 to get around 97 octane? Thanks

      @@EricksonMachinePerformance compression is probably around 190 and timing might be stock or slightly advanced. I didn’t build the ski.

    Question: I have a 1999 merc 120hp jet boat that’s 900lbs with a 18/27 impeller and I’m currently adding 80hp. The manual says wot range is 4,700-5,300 rpm. I’m currently running right at 5,200 rpm. So I know with the added 80 hp I’m going to run into the rev limiter hard it runs an xr2 pump. They only Ofer 18/27 and 22/39 witch is used on 210hp and up. Wat would be the difference between impellers? Would I be able to run the 22/39? Are impellers same as propellers as in a 27 pitch means 27 inch forward travel in one full rotation on propellers. Is that hold true for impeller as well? Any suggestions?more info xr2 pump 184mm. Also the leading edge on these impellers at flat cut is it worth having it edge radius cut.? Handful questions here I know. I appreciate any and all feed back very much. Thank you.

      Run the 22/39 it’s steeper which means less rpm but it will also raise your top speed

    I think you should just buy the right prop instead of adjusting it with a wrench

    • @EricksonMachinePerformance
      @EricksonMachinePerformance  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is what skat-track and solas also do. They have castings that are 2 degrees or so apart and then adjust to what's needed. They don't offer every size and every setup is different. This is extremely common for performance applications. For optimal performance it's common to repitch props. This is also the same process for propellers on boats . There is no magic. It's just bending to an EXACT degree.

    • @EricksonMachinePerformance
      @EricksonMachinePerformance  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also some of these prop can range from $350-$800 each. Repitching is quicker and more cost effective and they equal each other when done in performance. Also if your impeller is worn out you can have it welded and repaired back to new for less then half the cost. We are a repair shop. When possible I like to fix instead of replacing IF there is not performance loss or its cost prohibited or time constraint. Best of luck. Thanks for watching
