I've put R&G bungs on mine. Saved my last bike after a pot hole in a car park caused me to lose balance at low speed. Wasn't a mark on the bike. Best money I've spent.
Yes got the akra, the dealer did the software when purchased, fitted R%&G sliders on the front, middle and crankcase protectors. Fitted the Kriega bag mounts. I went with the quad lock for the phone. I’ve had a taller Puig racing screen fitted with an MRA deflector., makes a big difference to windflow,. Finally (so far) heated grips. When the battery goes, I’ll go for the lithium battery. Good video, look forward to your next, Colin
I pick up my 2020 very soon, the R&G swing arm guards are awesome. Didn’t know they had those, been watching a lot of videos to get ideas on what to do, I can’t wait.
If fitting the R&G crash bungs make sure the base plate doesn't touch the frame. I bought a 2018 model new and the base plate for the crash bungs rested on the frame and didn't touch on the bushes where they should meet. I sent pictures to R&G and told them the bushes needed to be another 7mm longer, they got some new bushes made and sent them to me. So they should be in the kit now but just check after fitting them.(and of course they blamed Aprilia for altering the frame and not telling them)
This has always been a dream bike of mine, and when the new styling refresh hits, I might just have to go get one finally! Love all the mods you did too. I think most surprising is the mirrors, they look great and I agree, up there are much easier to use then bar end mirrors.
Great video, but just incase anyone wanted to know, I found the akra exhaust to be far too quiet. I test rode the dealership owners personal tuono that had it and it was quite underwhelming. It was actually quiet than my mt07 with an akra surprisingly. So if you're looking to make this bike REALLY loud (and trust me everyone loves it when they hear it, well everyone that's into bikes) I would reccomend the SC Project CRT. Sounds absolutely mental and draws a lot of attention.
That's the exhaust I wanna get when I eventually get to buy a Tuono V4 Factory. I'm riding a superduke 2021 now but hoping to buy a Tuono in the future with that exhaust! Absolutely mental sounding beast.
@frame sliders: my friend recently went in too hot in the last turn before the main straight on a track day event. He was on a street triple rs. He lost the front, and the bike slid out into the gravel trap. He's fine, I think his pride was hurt the most. But you'd be surprised HOW much the frame+engine+handlebar sliders helped during that slide. It protected all the important bits AND the bike was declared fit to ride for the next session. Sure, there was some very minor cosmetic damage, easily fixable. But none of the important bits touched down
In the right kind of crash they can totally save your bike. I actually dropped my Tuono in a pub car park (not very glamorous I know) shortly after fitting these. The bike was 100% unharmed. It would have smashed the tank/ frame if it wasn’t for these.
Great content, awesome bike. I have the 2019 one... akrapovic was a must have for me... that v4 symphony. Always good to see mods... thanks for sharing.
I would say some indicators, maybe from Rizoma, or Motogadget will compliment the bike real nice. Something high quality like CNC machined stuff or something instead of the plastic ones. I have hardly seen any RSVs in real life because they are not so common here in India, so just saying off of what I see here in the video. Very tasteful modifications so far though. 😊
Hi mate, good review and nice added mods. Wondering how tall you are and if you feel lower rear sets are something that’s needed. I’m 6’1”… any thoughts? Cheers
Dropped it in a pub car park. Bloody embarrassing but no harm done. The sliders stick out a mile. Not that it matters anymore as the bike has since been stolen.
Hi - nice video. How easy was the evotech brake lever to install ? I couldn't remove the master cylinder plunger when i tried on my 2019 but just bought a spare lever and a pair of Evotech's to have another go on my 2020. It's a well kept secret so far from those who have done it lol. I have a quick release fuel cap on mine and Matt Carbon hugger, plus your mods. Cool bikes despite the price and sparse dealer network.
Sw motech makes tuono specific bags. Otherwise, commonsense and cosmetic upgrades. and one actual performance upgrade. No sprockets? no fuel management beyond an ecu flash? Same ecu as the rsv4....lol so much more can be done within the same budget ballpark
How many miles are on your bike? I test rode one last weekend and can't stop thinking about buying one.... but reliability is a huge concern, as these v4's are known for needing valve adjustments early.
@@billh4301 that isn't a lot of miles anymore, triumph and Yamaha have intervals that are double that. There have been a lot of reports of V4 Aprilias dropping valves.
Great vid! Got a cheap new 2019 a few weeks ago. Bought most of these items but thanks to this bought the USB socket and levers. Dealer keeps telling me the akra can is nowhere to be found - did you have any probs sourcing one?
Cheers Chris. Great time to get a bargain before the new model arrives (I would also argue that this Euro 4 engine will be better than a Eu5). I didn't have any problems with the pipe, I guess Akra had some production issues recently. I see Sportsbike shop are taking pre-orders for mid-may. www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/447364
Aprilia have stopped supplying the Akra and race map this year due to euro 5 regs . Buy the pipe from Akra and get the UpMap T800 dongle for a phone based app flash with the race map and GRT map
Revisited this video.. : ) What do you think of TEC bike parts bar end mirrors? I test rode a 2018 Tuono that had round bar end mirrors, except the fact they were puny in size i liked them. The TEC mirrors seem a better size though. I think you run bar end mirrors on your R-E, right? apart from it being a totally different bike, which do you prefer? Stalks or bar ends? Cheers!
Hi mate. I might try some bar ends on the Tuono, but for pure visibility, I think the stem mirrors are hard to beat. I have a pair of TEC bar ends, personally I didn't like them.
@@WildlifeMoto What brand please? Also, just out of curiosity, what settings do you use for the various aids? I run ATC 4 (lots of gravel still on the roads) AWC 1, ABS 2, ASC A1. Still toggling between Sport and Race maps.. I'm thinking Sport is better during run in due to more engine braking, which i have heard helps to settle the piston rings. Besides i am used to and quite like engine braking.. can't really tell any difference other than that, but then again i haven't done the first service yet so have set the shift lights at 7500 rpm
@@Larry_Mott It's a Ram ball mount with a short arm and large x-grip (all Ram). I mainly run the bike in Track Mode at the moment. ATC2, AWC2, ABS2. Sometimes AWC goes off (but not when filming on TH-cam haha)
I’m very limited in London as a lot of the “good” companies won’t touch it. Try the guys at Bemoto. I’ve heard good things about them (if you are out of London).
Love the content! Could you please drop some info on your Mic setup for your Voiceovers? They all sound particularly clean with no popping or mouth noises (I'm struggling with this myself so it would be a great help).
Nice vid (again) :) Pretty much a check list for my 2020 Factory with a few exceptions - I went for the Motodynamic tail tidy since it is to my knowledge the only one that's 100% plug and play, with no cutting or splicing cables. R&G frame sliders and Evotech front and rear axle ditto. The bike came with Akra + map included in the deal, just haven't had it fitted yet. I wanted to run the bike in and evaluate it in stock form first. Did you run into trouble with the clutch lever touching the TC paddle? I had to adjust stock lever up a mil or two from where i would have liked it because it kept decreasing, and eventually turning TC off. Not a good thing in sub 10° C temperatures :) Cheers!
Gonna pick up my Tuono v4 Factory 2021 model this tuesday, so excited :)
Very cool. Congratulations, ride safe (hold tight!).
Wow ! Congrats !
Bro pick one up for me as well. God bless you 😄.
Make damn sure you check the oil level constantly. Mine burns a quart of oil every 1500 miles!😩

In its class it’s pretty reliable (for an Italian Superbike). I didn’t have any major issues.
How tall are you mate? I’m 6”1, I’ve not sat on the tuono as of yet but I’m very interested in upgrading my bike.
Think I’ll fit?
Just under 6ft and no problems for me. It’s a small bike (smaller than you’d think) so worth test riding before you buy.
was this a 2020 bike?
By the way, is that a fork stem Ram mount you have? How do you find it? Was it difficult to assemble/mount?
No it's just a bar mount. I heard that the fit isn't great on the fork stem mount. I might try it one day.
