Loved the carpeted trunk and your awesome humor to help projects not seem so much like work.

Thanks Shawn! We try and make it less like the current crop of TV shows and more like, well, you know, your garage where people like one another and get along.

Please tell us more about that cool LED trunk light at 21:29! Can't seem to find it...

Honestly that is so far back in the way back machine I can't remember. There is a cross reference for the Mustang bulbs available on line.

Can't believe they made a nice car like this and stuck that ugly plaid mat in there carpet looks awesome!

We agree Mark, but we must remember that Ford wanted to make them as cheap as they could. A friend once told me to remember that Ford wasn't in the business of making cars, they were in the business of making money, cars were and are the chosen weapon. =)

This is really neat guys! I had 2 questions:
    1. How come you didn't sound deaden under the carpet?
    2. Can I use any carpet from the local household carpet store, or does fire risk, weight, heat come into play?

The carpet it self is a sound deadener. I would recommend using a nylon loop carpet like what is in the car.

I have to ask: Does the trunk look a little segmented by all the separate pieces of carpet? I'd think they'd make a one-piece panel that spans from tail light to tail light. Just a suggestion for Classic Car.

We've wondered if someone would come out with a molded panel much like what modern high end cars have. But to date that hasn't happened. We'll certainly pass that along to the guys at ACC!

They have a video on TH-cam as well check it out. Yes the 22 gallon is different than a 16 gallon it's not that much different that you would have to spend hours cutting and fitting with their system

We appreciate your input Raul. We have checked out the CJ video and you will note that the carpet in their video drops into the well onto the flat top of the 16 gallon tank. With the 22 gallon tank that "well" is gone, the top of the 22 gallon tank sits flat to the frame rail sections where the 16 gallon tank is in the bottom of that "well". With the 22 gallon tank the ACC and Distinctive floor carpet, if laid flat will push the wheel well carpet to out to the point that they will not fit properly.
The last point on this is that the main point of the video was not just about the Mustang. It was about any car. We attempt to provide tips that ALL owners can use. The Distinctive Industries carpet set that CJ sells is a nice one, but it will have the same problems that the ACC set has when dealing with the 22 gallon tank.

wow a lot of work, i got a carpet kit from cjponyparts that is molded to the my 65 fastback everything just drops right in. i did have to warm thew carpet so it would fit better. the same kit will fit a 22 gal tank as well. you might have to trim a bit but nothing like this

Interesting. The fit on the 22 gallon would have to be off a bit or you would have to put the carpet down in the side areas between the tank and the rails. The 16 gallon tank is flat on top and the 22 had the 2 inch high bulge that sits above the flange. We definitely went to additional efforts here to show how you could further customize the ACC custom carpet set. Most all of this would not need to be done if we were installing the carpet set stock.

Jeff's mind is a steel (that is, ferrous metal) trap. Glue is unnecessary; magnetism would work just fine.

Jeff says he'll take that as a compliment. LOL! Now if he could just remember where he put his brain...
