For Yoyoka fans who don't know this pianist, Ai Furusato is a 12-year-old living in Machida, Tokyo. She was born in 2011 to parents who run a jazz bar. In February of this year, She was accepted into Berklee College as the youngest student ever. She will soon be moving to the US. Incidentally, the world-famous violinist Akiko Suwanai is also from Machida. I'm also from Machida, and when I was the age of AI and Yoyoka, I was fighting with a Shiba Inu.

Love watching Yoyo expanding to jazz territory, with great approach as usual. Ai is an amazing young master pianist with great future. Well done girls. Please keep these collab pearls coming!
Yoyoka is a pro even at her young age. The young pianist going to Berkeley at age 12 is amazing. I'm from Boston and I know a couple of Berkeley instructors and some musicians who were students there. I think the young lady will enjoy Boston.🎶😎
Two outstanding musical talents coming together to create melodic magic. I can't wait! 🙂 And now I add to my comment to say that what you have created here is truly beyond words. The chords, the drums... everything on this track is a thing of beauty and perfection. Amazing!
Wonderful ... this is what I've been waiting for from Yoyoka. The classic rock covers were all very well done, but now we're really going somewhere new!
Fabulous! When you combine two masters of their craft together you get pure magic. After seeing a preview of this on YOYOKA’s VLOGs I was hoping for a full release soon!
Another beautiful collaboration and a beautiful piece of music. What is fascinating about Yoyoka is the ease with which she plays different styles of music without any problems and with authority, precision and confidence. The mark of a pro.
Wow!!!! That was really wonderful. I've been following YOYOKA for a few years and this song really shows her talent. Ai and YOYOKA really play well together. Bravo 🌺🌼❤️💜🎶
I came in with no expectations. But it was really nice to see such a collaboration. Showing off your skill is one thing. But working together with someone else like this takes things to another level. Because it's not just skill but syncing and being in a flow state with someone else. At that point you become part of something larger, something that transcends the normal ideas of Self. Fun fact: Science has shown that when people get into a shared flow state like this their brain waves even start to sync.
every time I watch yoyoka and guest Iam utterly stunned by the musical maturity that comes from these two young ladies. It’s such an honor to witness budding stars performing their talents way beyond their years. Amazing and thank you 😊

This is a wish come true for fans of this duo. First heard Ai and Yoyoka in 2023. So many of us hoped this collaboration would manifest. Great music by 2 magnificent prodigies!
Japan occasionally pops out some incredible prodigies. The drummer Senri Kawaguchi started playing professionally at 14 and was only 16 when her first album was released. The pianist Hiromi Uehara was already playing with professional orchestras at 14.

And there it is: the next musical evolution from the immensely talented Yoyoka, and an introduction (to me) to the similarly-talented Ai on piano. I hear traces of Hiromi's music in here (who is an absolute favorite of mine). Keep pushing, keep evolving, keep giving the planet reasons to believe that the world of instrumental music is in good hands for the foreseeable future.
Wynton Marsalis when being interviewed about working with Joey Alexander (who was 12 or 13 at the time) said that Jazz does not have a tradition of Child Prodigies like classical music. He said Jazz is a music for and by adults. He was completely blown away by Joey's genius and maturity in his music. I think these two and Joey might be the start of a tradition of young Jazz prodigies.
