    I've been trying to play bass clef to play the piano since I used to play clarinet so, it is quite tricky. I really like how easy it was explained. Now I have to remember that where f is on a treble clef is where a is on the bass clef

    • @Texy88
      @Texy88 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Another hint is that the bass-clef is sometimes known as the F-clef, as he pointed out in the video. As well as the two dots being in the spaces either side of the F-line, notice that the start of the clef itself also starts on this line.
      Of course, it is even easier to tell what the lines and spaces are if a piece has sharps or flats in the key signature, as the order of the sharps and flats is exactly the same in the bass clef as in the treble clef (FCGDAEB for sharps, BEADGCF for flats).
      It is worth getting used to the bass clef, as it is pretty hard to avoid in piano music due to many of the notes in your left-hand playing being much too low for the treble clef.

    When we learned the bass clef in choir, my best friend and I, who just so happen to sit next to each other, made up "Grapes Break Dance From Alleyways" for the lines on the bass clef and "Airborne Cities Eliminate Gravity" for the spaces. It's easy to remember because it's weird.

    I've learnt the notes on the treble clef before learning this. I find it difficult to learn this separately. I just remember this relationship between the two that helps me identify the notes quicler.. The same note on the bass clef stave is one whole step down from the treble clef stave. For example, the F note on the bass clef is on the second staff from above and the F note on the treble clef is on the first staff from above. It works for me that way.

    I've always played Baritone/Euphonium in Treble Clef because I used to play Saxophone and only really played Baritone in Drum & Bugle Corps (2 valve G Bugle Days). Just getting tired of finding someone to transpose music for me.
    Thanks for the video.

    I play clarinet and and sax, so I've been taught to read in the treble clef. I'm going to learn bass so I'm gonna have to adapt to the new clef, thank you so very much it is going to be a big help.
