I grew up in martinsville. And lived in chatmoss. Yall should Google maps chatmoss and zoom out till you find the track. From my house I could hear the race cars. It was awesome and I was probably 10 13 miles away.
I think Nascar really screwed up the truck series race it looked like poor planning and you done great for what they did and God bless from GA and stay safe
Good on NASCAR for making it abundantly clear of the weather warnings. Ik it’s a very small thing. But people have died at these races from getting struck by lightning, remember they’re essentially sitting in a gigantic field with a ton of metal and other conductive stuff around. So it’s good NASCARs announcing it slow and loud for everyone to be aware.
She'll gain a lot of experience this season; some good, others not so good. If she stays humbled then she accept and move forward. Her intelligent and communication is going to be a 10 out of 10. I support her progress. I know someone will have something to say, but that's my view.

Your truck seemed to be handling great on the wet tires, then went to crap once they switched back to slicks. Keep your head up. You are 2 good finishes from being in the top 10.
It's really difficult to make up track position there if you don't qualify high. The wet weather/rain tires were an interesting aspect of that race for sure.
Hallie, please be careful about resting your feet/legs of the dash because if something was to happen and the air bags went off, that will cause significant injuries........that is unless you turn off the passenger airbags.........I don't want you to get injured like that.
@@HoltAircraft I was surprised too. My uncle was at a race at riverside. It started raining about 10 laps in . Many cars changed tires and kept on going. Took a bit for everyone to realize those were rain tires. Honestly, I think nascar should use rain tires at any track except daytona, talladega, Atlanta. Why not? Unless there’s a hurricane or a really bad storm/tornado, rain tires should be used. Trying to drive through the bad conditions, brings different elements in the race. But i know nascar doesn’t want to be formula 1. But honestly it’s where they got knockout qualifying
That race was an absolute joke if you even consider it a race. You did the best you could given the circumstances. Half of the laps run were under caution. There were 124 laps run 63 under caution for an average speed of 46.84 mph because of all of the caution laps. It was a 61 lap race on a half mile track so a 30 mile race broken up into parts. I always like your race day vids but wish they were a little longer, seems like they are getting shorter every week. Good luck next race. Always rooting for you.
NASCAR first run on rain tires was in Japan in 1997 during practice and qualifying. I helped prep one of the cars in that race that Gary Collins from Winston West Series rented to a Japanese driver that entered.

Honestly I think they should have just postponed the race until Saturday. It would have made things a lot easier. I will never understand why nascar didn't just postpone the race.
In Australia our V8 Super cars still race when it rains just like F1. We have wets,intermediates & slicks. If the weather changes throughout the race you just adapt to the conditions. I don't follow NASCAR but I thought it would be similar Super cars, F1 & Indy when it comes to racing in those type of conditions? Poor Hailey u could see she was disappointed & just wants to race.
You did what you could Hailie, but Mother Nature often has other plans. 27th to 20th isn't that bad, though. In the points standings, you went from 16th to 15th. So, maybe a blessing in disguise? Correct me if I'm wrong.

I’m still very confused about what situations NASCAR wants to use these tires in. There’s no way teams can anticipate how they should set up their trucks when the wet tires are symmetric on all 4 corners and immediately start overheating because of how soft they are!
You're not the only one. I'm totally confused and lost about the rain tires. NASCAR definitely needs to make it more clear about what the official rules of use are for the rain tires.
Bowyer made a perfect statement on this. They aren’t rain tires, they’re “wet weather” tires. They’re not for running in active rain, they’re made to run while the track is actively drying, and to get back to racing sooner since the track doesn’t have to be 100% dry.

Maybe she just sucks at restarts. No insult intended. But everyone has a weaknesses at something
She has the same issue as Harvick and Truex. Both cars can’t get a good start but then they become very competitive once they got a couple laps in.

Racing in the rain is a bad idea on ovals,I feel that short track is your chance to shine in good equipment like the K N series
