They should have had Frank stalking after Spiderman the whole time, assumedly with the intention to punisher him then they have a fight where they work together at the end and Frank is just happy "You finally figured it out kid. You and me, we're going to clean up this city"

Sulphuric acid is a pretty common chemical iirc. Doesn't really go "in" things but it's used in a lot of chemistry cause...well... it's acid, it dissolves other things which is useful.
