You're fine. You have a young QB, you need to clean up penalties, and your D was gassed in the second half. You're going to be fine this season and you're going to be better next season. Plus it was a FUN game. Both teams played hard. Huskers fans were great as always. Keep your head up. I'd guess Illinois and Nebraska flip positions in the top 25 next week depending on who wins and loses. Nebraska is good.
Another Frost era has begun. But to be honest, they can’t have a Mahomes wanna be playing like Mahomes. It isn’t his style and he needs to trust his line. Hard to see Nebraska lose bc it’s such a strong fan base.
@@matts0688 You've got a local Omaha reporter, Sam McKowen (spelling?) who nailed it. He said Illini wore down the husker d line in the 2nd half - trench war won by the Illini. Your guys were gassed, and Illini started to run. Also, Illini defense mixed it up in 2nd half, putting lots of pressure on your QB that wasn't evident in 1st half. Overall, either team could have won - each had good plays, some miscues. I was suspect, but after his performance, your qb seems very legit - just needs to have more games under his belt. All you Husker fans just need to relax. This program is gonna be just fine. And stop blaming the damn coaches - "it's not the x's and the o's - it's the jimmy's and the joe's."
@@jakobemathias It’s definitely a mix of X’s and O’s and jimmy’s and joes. The D line was out of position because the o coordinator guessed with amazing precision where a blitz would come from and the RBs kept getting untouched for 10 yards. They also got schooled on 2 different goal line plays where we got caught playing the run and not expecting a pass. I have 0 reservations about Raiola. He’d exceeded my already high expectations. Did he have a couple questionable plays/passes? Yeah, but so do actual NFL QBs. Mahommes couldn’t do anything without an O line in the Super Bowl against the Buc and that’s what the OT plays reminded me of. He’s not mahommes so don’t get me wrong there. I heard him compared to Roethlibuger last year and I actually see that more outside of the arm angle throws
