Very Good: Your explanation of each aspect of the basic router is spot on. Also, Template usage and the compatibility issue is something Makita should take note of. I will be watching the Videos that pertain to my router...Good Work!
Have the same router, been using it for a few years now with the standard base. I just find it a little unstable and small. The plunge base looks a lot bigger so about time I bought one. Nice review.
Inadvertently, this video has been a lifesaver. Been trying to find out if/how I can get guide bushings to fit the DRT50 but it has proved difficult and confusing. Turns out - as you demonstrate - those brass bushes just fit the standard base. One set winging its way to me...
Thanks, this is great. I don't see how to get it to go to the advertised 1 3/8" depth, and you show the same situation I've got, with just the bit sticking out. How do you get the bit to go deeper into the wood?
I just got mine and the plunge base has a bit of a wobbel on one of the pistons (~1mm). Wondering if its just an issue with my unit or has anyone else experienced it too?
Does it fit the Makita RT0702CX4/2 240V? Cheers buddy. I bought both after reading that the plunge base fit the series. Also, AI told me that it would fit the 702 perfectly. Once aligned with the peg, I can force it on I think but am worried to in case I have to return the base.
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL I think the problem was with the clasp opening, where the lever pulls across to tighten it. The 2 `flaps` which are joined by the clasp were slightly pushed into the inside diameter of the insert. Hopefully with time this will stretch outwards. Perhaps it had a knock at fabrication. Was a little disappointed.
I would like to ask your opinion about the on off switch for this router. I caught myself yesterday but not seriously but the on off was at fault in my opinion. Could you pm me please
I got the trimmer on it’s own but now gonna buy that accessory, thanks for this video mate👍 u said you do makita reviews, that means a subscription hahahahaha and a 🛎 cheers mate

Very helpful. Couldn't figure out how to use it or even attach it to my cordless router. Again, very helpful
Thank you, your explanations are great and saved me plenty of time especially with the plunge base, happily using the DRT50 now.
Just subscribed.
Thanks, nice and clear and showing the pros and cons.

Yes it fits that model.
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL I managed to get it into the base but only after quite a squash. Thanks for your response though, and the great video.
@@thekarmafarmer608 It should slide in easily.
