I have the 36U version of this rack and it is great. I didn't run into any of the issues you did with the rack rails, but I also didn't use the rack screws that came with it so who knows what would have happened otherwise. It doesn't have quite the level of polish of a typical Middle Atlantic rack but it also didn't cost nearly what an equivalent MA unit would run so I'd call it a wash. Overall I like it quite a lot. I'm actually glad it didn't come with fans because I would have just chucked them anyway. I used AC Infinity fans with their fan controller and couldn't be happier.
very nice acquisition. excellent presentation. (i'm a middle atlantic rack owner - used to use a wooden rack purchased at a local big box store. It was valuable, but like you said, eventually you outgrow them and need something a little more adjustable and solid.)
Don't worry man, that happens to the best HT installers... the threads may have been drilled poorly on the front... now you have a taste of the daily life of a pro... i have the ugg slippers for home work as well.
I have a media cabinet that I bought in a major brand name store. It looks nice but to install equipment is totally useless. I had to cut to square holes at the back so I could connect the wires. Another lesson learned. Thank you for the video.
Great review, thanks for sharing. I ended up buying this rack very recently and removed all the shelves and replaced them where needed. I didn't have a single issue with the screws stripping. Although I must admit, I was holding my breath based on your experience. I believe you got a bad unit. I highly recommend this rack. It is a beast. Liked and subscribed.
those racks are measured by RU. 1 RU is 3 screw holes. So in those 3 holes 2 are the same and the 1 in the middle is different. If you try putting the screw into the middle one it will strip. The rack usually come with different screws for the 2 different thread pitch of the holes.
UPDATE - I ran into the same problem as you did. It appears that some screw holes on the front rail were drilled from behind. I find that very confusing. While trying to adjust the shelves I noticed the problem. If I thread the screw from the backside of the same rail the screw goes right in. Not sure what was going on in the production 🤔 of this not exactly cheap cabinet.
Hey great review I have been looking into the 55” Sanos rack. I really like the look of them. I bet the manufacture didn’t clean the threads before running the screws in. Tap the holes and run new screws but that may have taken even longer to fix
Hey VillaMan, I have that same rack I bought it from a reseller. My screws went in fine. You may have gotten a unit that was assembled wrong. I would have called Sanus and they would have sent you out a new rack. Those rails may be problems down the lie I would call them anyway and have then sent you new rails. I would also add rail-kits to you amps, Also try this for your cooling. AC Infinity Aircom T8 Quiet Cooling Blower Fan System Thanks PM
@@ThaVillaMan I literally just ordered the same thing last night, plus two Cloudplate T7s and an Aircom T8 for my AV processor. I really prolly didn't need the two T7s for ATI AT52XNC & AT54XNC amps, but wanted more intake than exhaust for positive d/p to keep dust out and peace of mind.
hello I have have RBH SV-831R modular monitor speaker and the SV-1212NR , what you think of them? if I thought about changing what do you recommend? or thats fine! thanks
The best jokes are always the ones where you don't even realise you're telling a joke... "There was more tension in the screw than you think a screw should have" 😄
Tha_VillaMan hm that’s interesting well I don’t think I wanna do the extra work might just look elsewhere. Thank for answering and thank you so much for all the knowledge and such you share with the community I’m gonna be doing a home theater tour soon and I’m gonna be giving you a special shout out. You were very pivotal in helping me choose almost all equipment and I just wanna say I really appreciate that!
Unscrewing the feet for them to touch the ground is enough to keep it in place. Though admittedly it is more of a pain than simple wheel locks would have been. Go figure. That’s awesome to hear. So glad I could help! Looking forward to seeing the tour
Tha_VillaMan yeah not having maneuverability would be pretty annoying lol. And of course man your a expert in your craft and you are one of my absolute favorite channels on here. And o wow that’s so awesome to hear you’ll be watching thank you!
Bummer. I like Sanus products, surprised by this. Guessing it was a quality control miss. Though the guy putting those screws in should've known something was up and not let it go to market.
I would have simply taken a 10-32 tap and re-tapped the screws, called the company you got the rack from first and gotten a discount for their poor quality control. Some say that is petty but having to redo the screw holes is no big deal, BUT having to fix something that should had been checked before it left the factory costs money. My time is worth something to as well as the taps your going to use do as well, and having to re-tap over 100 screw holes I am sure your going to use up a couple taps. The last taps I purchases cost me around $10-$20 each and some I have are over $150.00, depends on the tap and size, and metric seems to be a pain in the A$$ to get around this small town and usually takes a few days to get. I am just saying that my time, work, and equipment costs too. Good video though.
Cheers from Toronto, Canada I love your videos! I owned a pair of speaker stands from Sanus and I think their build quality is garbage for the price they sell at. Not surprised at all that their racks are of terrible quality too.. I'm sure there's other manufacturers making better quality racks out there but probably at a much higher price point.. I would never buy another Sanus product ever again.
Hey Villa what the heck. You grabbed with Sanus 27 instead of the Omnimount..?? And no fan..? LOL. This video might go in the same category as that other one where you blew that PB-3000.
BushidoKi I’m pretty sure you can. It’s all default specifications that all of them use. Literally watching a movie right now, and staring at it, it’s really nice
@@nachowifi2181 nice, i just bought a pc case made for server racks like those, cant wait to build a 3090 in one. prob will go with this one or the one you mentioned. not sure yet, they both look the same but the one you mentioned is like 200 cheaper.
The quality of that rack is unfortunate especially given that it looks so nice. If it was me I would have bought a full height rack. Can't you get for server components. They have a much better setup interma of those screws.
hope the problems you got was just with this rack and not ll racks they sell. You probably contacted them or I hope you did. I was looking at one but not so sure right now.

That wasn’t the issue. It was just bad QC
If you can when you talk about your wreck what supports the back of those trays on the rack it is a nice-looking rack
I have the 36u I believe, they are nice affordable racks :)
Thanks for the review. I just ordered one. I cant wait to ditch my current set up.

It looks huge! Are you able to just have the skeleton rack without the covers? Or is all one whole attached piece?
Honest review... thanks!
have to ask you when you are playing movies or music dosent this rack not make noise i mean vibrate??? the site´s are not vibrasion free??
I went with Salamander, pricey but modular, and quite beautiful.

How many slots does your receiver and power amps take up? Do you still have space for fans? Looking to get either this one or the 36U
What was that unboxing song playing in the background on the first quarter of the video?
I have the the similar 36U Sanus rack. What are you planning on using fan wise to keep your setup cool?
I use 2 Cloudplate T9s. One for intake (base) and another for exhaust (top) amzn.to/3tP2SnT

its hard to pass this up as it has so many accessories that makes life easier. I dont know if i should go for something cheaper.

Just got the 36u one. Love it
Hey villaman do the wheels have locks on them in case I were to put it on hardwood floor so it wouldn’t be rolling during a film and such?

Sanus is the "consumer" line from Legrand. If you really want a quality rack, you should've ordered from Middle Atlantic.

Strong Series FS Rack sold by Dreamedia. UUUHHHMAZING and gorgeous. I own one and I love it. Fans included ;)

Because you used a power tool with high torches. Hand tied first and use screw driver
Nope. I used hand held for most of it initially. Some holes were fine, others weren’t
Sanus makes good stuff, it was probably a defect.
VillaMan smokes the good stuff
Ha, no he doesn’t

Sounds like they included the wrong size screws.

I like my home theater rooms rack like my women’s rack . Nice and big 🤤
One day they will invent av equipment that’s dose not need wires
Some day. Maybe 2120
Those are the one use screws. They only go in. Yikes.
Man this having zero fans is a nope from me. This will cause thermal shutdown guarantee
If a took you 6 hours to put it back together I’ll say no thank you 🙏
