I guess with that receiver, you won’t need any additional HDMI support. One thing I forgot, until you mentioned it, was cable management. Coming together nicely!
Thank you Sir!! For such a awesome detailed video! I just purchased my first rack and was having a difficult time finding any good videos on home audio installs untill yours. Thank you again for all thr helpful information!!
Its possible to get releasable zip ties as well. I live in a condo apartment. We have to move every couple of years when the landlord increases the rents here in Toronto by 25%. SO nothing is permanent for us. U use Velcro for most tie-downs ad releasable zip ties when neatness counts. I store them in a fishing tack box and document their locations on a wiring diagram that I make in vision. Every shelf is labelled and divided into six spaces on the left and F on the right support post and the shelf is divided into five segments. So Velcro goes into A1, or A2, or A3. The tackle box is divided the same way the first row of the top box is A1, and the second row of the top box is A2. This means I can quickly pack and unpack a system in a few minutes and then figure out where everything goes. Devices also get labels AMP001 or RCV001, BLU001, DVD001. This gets used on the shelf which gets the same device label. The rack cabinet get RCK001 (I have seven racks in the house. 3 audio and 3 home lab servers, and one telecom rack labelled TEL001). If you contact the manufacturers, they can usually provide can elements for each piece of equipment front and back. then you just drop them into you shape library and onto your diagram,. The same applies to the rack and shelves). Initial setup and diagramming takes time but it's handy when the cable guy comes over and wants to know where the demarcation is and how it connects to your home network. I also label cables the same way. One end would be rec001-01 and the other end would be AMP001-01.
Would it be difficult to make a video showing all of the wiring step by step? Like how you ran the speaker wires from beginning to end.. or do you already have a video showing that?
That rack is beautiful, no way would I hide it in a closet. Great Job! I have a mid 80's Denon that's like 50+ lbs, is there support at the back for the shelves.
Nice I’m also running Marantz and Rotel, and a UB820. No rack yet. I like tech, so home theatre in next house will have a rack built into the back wall with a tinted window so you can just about make out the lights.
Quick question. I’m getting into av racks for the first time. For the shelves, I see you screw in the front screws to the mounting hardware, however it looks like some of the shelves are just hanging in thin air 😅? Wouldn’t that be a huge amount of torque pulling downward? Or am I missing that you attached something to support the rear of the amps as well?
I need some assistance. I have cable box and a Roku, should both connect through the receiver first. But, when we want to just watch news or a TV show without going through all of our speakers how would we make this connection? We’d just like to use the TV’s speakers for news programs and regular TV shows. And is it possible to set up the receiver so that when we turn on the Roku box it “triggers” the receiver to come on automatically? Our receiver is a Marantz SR5010. Thx
Im thinking of getting this for my dennon 2700 avr does it fit fine in this it definitely a good rack its in the uk however near £800 u think its worth it
New follower with tons of questions. 2013 Jeep Wrangler 4 door. Which size sub woofer should I be looking for. Only going with one sub. Thinking of a down firing box since I usually have no doors and no top. Thoughts? Ported or sealed? If ported should the port also be firing downwards? Also, Jeep has the two front speakers, two on the above sound bar like any other Wrangler and two speaker pods on the rear (c pillar) roll cage. All are 6.5” and thinking of making two of those into 6.5” woofers. Should I put those in the B or C pillar? B is a long bar so lots of more air and C are single pods. Which shallow 6.5 are recommended? Not looking for loud 2-Ohm. Looking for a deeper lower 4-Ohm… brings me to amps. Option 1. Two amps, one for the four coaxial, and the other for the two woofers and one sub? Option 2, one for six (four coaxial, two woofers) speakers and one 1 ch for the larger sub? Wires, which gauge for, speakers, woofers, sub, power etc is recommended? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced.
Hi Mark, I noticed that the MR 5100 has 4 high current outlets which you more than likely plugged the three amplifiers in, my question is if I have the M5400-PM which only has two high current outlets how would I go about connecting the same three amplifiers to the unit?
Clean Mark. Wicked clean. Nab you a record player, for fun. Ive gotten back into vinyl lately, and have loved it. I love spending a day, browsing record shops.... and also love the music production/sound of a good record. Well done as always my guy. You will enjoy that set up for a long long long time.
Good day. Can u please assist me. I hooked up a line out converter to my stock radio. I have a monoblock amplifier and hooked up the wires to my stock front speaker wires. Because i have a monoblock amplifier, must i put the 2 positief wires together and the 2 negative wires together on one front speaker? Or must i use both front speakers to hook up the line out converter? I hope u understand. I have a monoblock amp with 1 set of subwoofer speaker wire
Nice looking rack situation. Are the rack ears on the Rotels the only thing holding the amps in the rack? I saw the shelves being removed but did not see them holding the amps. I’m planning on getting the larger Rotel amp, but at 75 pounds it makes me wonder if the ears alone can hold it.
I’ve rewatched the video and now realize that I somehow missed that the Rotel rack ears are long enough to support the whole depth of the amps. Looks good.
One day I will consider making the switch to home audio. That's a whole different bracket of coin required to jump into that field. I've enjoyed my dad's coming up.
Do you recommend 2U vent plantes between amplifiers or is 1U vented plates enough? I plan to put AC Infinity fans above each at some point? My Amps are Class D
i love this perfect world where i dont have to worry about a sales department skimping on a rack size cause they wanted to undercut the competition. *sigh* if only realy cool video
building it on it back i think is not great idea as to many things can go wrong when you are lifting it up. also you are putting a huge amout of pressure on the two wheels. you are so much safer to mount the devices when the rack is up right starting from the bottom and working up.
I'm not talking about this video in particular! But it amazes me how people are willing to fork out so much on components / units and then goes and fu×ks-up with some false economy cables.
Augh! Not DIN! (~7:10) they are Rack Units or 1RU. As someone who is an AV geek and also a car audio geek (who has rack-mounted equipment in my car in the 1990’s) it drives me nuts to have people mix these up.
Nice!!👌🏻 You've inspired me, so I'm now off to Google 'large racks'...!!😆
I bought the exact same rack earlier this year. It was perfect for me too! Really like Middle Atlantic racks as well.
I guess with that receiver, you won’t need any additional HDMI support. One thing I forgot, until you mentioned it, was cable management. Coming together nicely!
I built my own wooden rack and this prefab one is making me considering replacing it. Super nice layout!
Thank you! The design of these is very nice. Well worth the dollar bills in my opinion
I built my own and it works but a prefab one has many advantages.
Yes also working with wood also because I am modifying a DJ set up which includes classic old melon crates.
Thank you Sir!! For such a awesome detailed video! I just purchased my first rack and was having a difficult time finding any good videos on home audio installs untill yours.
Thank you again for all thr helpful information!!
when running power cables make sure they are warm as they are more flexible. I use a hot water bottle in a big plastic box

Nice informative video. Do you mind adding a link to the fans you used up top? Thanks

Great Job!

Great video Mark, look foward to the completed build
Thanks Dennis 👍

I love the rack you use... I am going to look into it. Thank you.
You're welcome. Very easy to assemble and use. Crutchfield did a great job helping me pick the right size too!
How to use remote if all equipment are at different place? Please suggest.
Thank you so much sir for your packaged information.
Splendid demo and info thanks 👍🏼✊🏼. UK

I second the question about the top rack fan. 😊
Always love watching your vids. Great inspiration. Thanks again!
Thanks for watching!

Nice work Mark. I have yet to max the volume on my receivers with no extra amps without getting yelled at by the wife.

I love Crutchfield
What three Rotel amps are you using?
May i know if u have receiver then why need to add three amplifier? What the function to use amplifier?
Does the location of the power bars make any difference?

Did u know they make rack mounting ears for the Marantz as well?
Yes. But no harm in using the shelf, I like having some more real estate behind it for wire routing connections
Do you plan to sound proof your rack case?
No. Because it is in a different room.
Beautiful!
I’m surprised you didn’t get hooked up with some nice audio control amps! They make some sweet sweet HT devices.
They definitely do! The beauty of the rack is its easy to swap stuff out. I may have to evaluate some AudioControl goodness in an upcoming video!
@@CarAudioFabrication heck yeah, I’m down for that. I wish I could run their in home stuff, but for now I’ll live through you hahahaha

My manz should have went with XLR

Don't bother changing to cable ties. Just use velcro tape.
