    If you have a miter saw you can cut those plastic Harbor Freight socket holders down to fit your set. I have the Tekton 8-19mm and 5/16-3/4 set and just cut down the holders to fit. It looks nice and gives you a lot more room in your box.

    I have the HF plastic socket trays. Love them. Agree that the skipped numbers drive me crazy too, but cheap is good!

      Absolutely agree. These thing have been great and ya with how cheap they are I didn't mind spending a little to fill the tray lol

      Ya I would say magnetic ones would probably be best. I had some that were tape backing and they worked well at first but when I wanted to reorganize the drawer removing them destroyed my drawer liners.

    I know HF is all budget but what's the best budget organizer for sockets that they have? I was thinking the peg style ones that have the labeling at the top of the peg. They come in a 3 pack and the price isn't so bad. They look like they should be able to work even in the shallowest drawers. I have the husky molded foam tool set and the spacing with this setup just takes up way too much space in my box. So trying to organize my sockets to save space but also a father/husband on a super budget so makes pulling the trigger on things tougher. Gotta do it right the first time.

    Hello again Tony
    Thank you for another Great Video. I have the HF Pliers Rack, and have not had an issue. But I did have their drawer Wrench rack which I out grew. It also left a lot space open. But couldn't really use it the way I would have liked. I couldn't add Wrenches etc. I was stuck with it. Again thank you

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you and that's good to hear about the pliers rack and I know what you mean. I had the same issue with the wrench rack. I out grew it and ended up switching styles

      @@georgeferlazzo7936 absolutely. They can be spendy if you have alot but man they are by far the most customizable especially if you have to at more wrenches you don't have to buy another rack or anything you just add more 👍

    HF ALSO has some socket rails that are in the small boxes located right next to the metal rails you didn't like and skipped over. These are plastic rails, with ball detent socket adapters, they come with 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 drive sized rails in each box, and you're able to buy the socket clips separately on Amazon if there is not enough on the rails for you, or you can just buy two boxes, they're literally under $5 for a set so a good price for the $. Also a side note, on the half inch drive rail, fully loaded with impact sockets, I was able to shake the rails without the sockets falling off, so they're pretty damn good in my book.

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very nice that's awesome to know. I think since I was looking at the metal rails I just thought that was a box of metal rails. I apologise for skipping those but I appreciate you sharing that info with me 👍

    There are a lot of nice organizers out there. I like organizers for sockets. To me they are a necessity. As you said, not a fan of the metal ones. But I do have some of those. The metal ones I like the most I got from McMaster-Carr. I especially like the short ones they have to use for a small tool roll/bag for emergency kit in the car.
    I would like organizers for wrenches and pliers too. But organizers use a more space and I don't have space for more or bigger boxes. So the wrenches and pliers just lay in the drawers. The pliers are stacked sort of like an organizer but just lean against each other.

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ya I completely understand everyone has different setups and sometimes you just have to compromise to what works best for you and ya I used to have the metal ones as well. If I didn't have a whole socket set for my car I would use those just bc they are very cheap and hold the sockets very well 👍👍👍

    The Wrench It To Me is a great wrench organizer for a drawer in your tool chest. Holds two sets of 14, two sets of stubbies or other small wrenches plus another small rack and can hold allen keys as well. Made in the USA and only about $10 with the 20% off coupon.

    Good video. I found that the us general tool organisers do not well that well the 44 inch us general cabinets and boxes, the drawers are little bit short in height seems to a common complaint from other also. The deep sockets cannot stand up in the lower drawers, i use kobalt and ernst instead.

    Hey Tony, Do you know the item# for the First organizer that is $9-10 and is it a 3 or 6pc set? I got the Kobalt mechanic set from a friend online. He sent tools only to cut the shipping cost. I'm just a DIYer and I will be putting them in my 5 drawer US General CArt.
    Do they come in different colors? My box is Royal blue. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and videos Rodney
