This is soooo helpful. The use of these lines, I am going to do the same, so easy to see this way. Please can you make more videos about perspective? Where do you start drawing when the subject is in perspective? From what is closer or further away ?!
Thank you very much for this helpful exercise on perspective rules observation. As I know well camera lens may change a litle bit the perspective, especially the perspective of vertical lines. Do you have some recommendations on how to avoid errors on perspective using photos?
Sir, I get to learn from all your videos.Just a small question, when the vanishing point is outside the photograph, getting the angle of the lines of building is sufficient, is it?
Yes. I don’t usually think about VPs at all. Get the highest and lowest perspective angles accurately drawn and fit the others in between. Only worry about them if you think it makes your drawing easier to get accurate. All the best. 😀
I’ll try. I use a variation when on location drawing. But i only began drawing a bit before COVID hit, and then Sydney went into pretty tight and long lockdowns, so my location sketching opportunities have been more limited, hence the photos. Plus I’d have to work out the camera practicalities. But I’ll try and give it a go soon. 😀
Watching your analysis of actual photos is so much more useful than all the simple graphics that are usually drawn to explain perspective!
Thanks Carol. Yes, I’ve always found it very helpful personally to do. Glad it works for you too. 😀
One of the best tutorials on perspective. I will try with the colour strips. Thank you
Thanks again Janaki. I've uploaded three more videos on perspective since this if you're interested.
This website is for me one of good education channels
That is very encouraging for me to hear. Thank you. :)

Thank you. I have just posted a new video about perspective in drawing stairs. It might be helpful. :)
Well explained in detail. A valuable lesson
Thanks Rajan. I'm really glad it was helpful. :)
thank you for this tutorial 😀 I understand the problem with the street in curves 👍
Thanks Yannick. Yes. Life is seldom as simple as in simple line diagrams. :)

Just to be aware of it. If you want to straighten the verticals, eye level is where the photo gives the true distance between them. 😀
Thanks! I was looking for a video where perspective is explained on real life objects and not drawings
Then you’re in luck Kotka. Hope you find some of my other videos helpful as well. 😀

My pleasure Mateo :)
@@stephentraversart real one 🙏
that is very funny because i live next to saint germain en laye so it was a pleasant surprise !
We have great memories of a beautiful summers’s day spent there. 😀
Can you do a video showing the same without reference photo in real life ?

I’ll see if I can. 😀
