    the author does like to from scratch, shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ as another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us dont have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we wont be able to practice the full stack project, is still great.

    That Cleat system looks so solidly put together, even with all that weight it doesnt look like anything will move. You did a good job with that project.

    This is the kind of low budget “gadget” storage that I need. Practical, functional,and easy to make with most of the stuff I already have in the shop. Outstanding, I cannot wait to see the remainder of the projects.

    I really like and appreciate your presentation. We watch these types of videos for inspiration and sometimes just to watch someone working with wood. However, we don’t necessarily need to see every little detail repeated a million times. You choose to show parts of the process while explaining what you have already done. This is a great way to visually tell a story. Keep up the great work!

    Every single organizer in this video is one I have a need for. I was wondering where to put the French Cleats when I realized that the perfect spot is the pegboard where many of my tools currently reside. So right after I build the workbench based on your design in the other videos, I will build replace the pegboard with a French Cleat wall. Thanks! These are great ideas.

Glad you found your way back to making awesome vids for us to be inspired by, My tools all hang from a 100x100 rio sheet I have hanging over my bench (a bit like those old fashioned kitchen pot holders) and it is great for organizing clamps, vice grips, pliers, gloves, etc.

    Most of your videos are great to watch but since I have the luxury of a 20 ft x 35 ft workshop, I tend to watch the videos to see how you are getting on, not because I need to save space.
    This video, however, has 9 items that I can use in my workshop and although I don't have a cleat system (I was given 20 m of 2.5m high wooden library shelving) all of these projects can be fitted Ito my workshop and that makes this video better than great for me.
    Many thanks. Roll on the weekend, guess what I'm going to be doing :)

  • @raymitchell9736
    @raymitchell9736 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I really enjoyed these shop organizer ideas... I got a lot of inspiration.. so YES please more of these!!! I've done a lot of similar things. For hammers, I made a series of 'U' shaped cradles for each hammer, tilted slightly back so they would stay in place when stored. When I need a hammer I just grab the handle and pull it directly out. Your hammer system is simpler, so you can store more and don't have to fuss with the U shaped cradles, but on the other hand you have to lift it up and out, that would slow down the work flow a little... but that's a nit-pick, and I respect what works for others is a matter of personal taste.

    I’ve accomplished most of these tasks with 1-2$ screw in hooks- screwed directly to the studs with 3” screws for heavier items or screwed with 2” screws into a long backer which is screwed into the studs every 16” giving me infinite variability for spacing.

    So you are from SA. I thought so. So lovely down there, I must visit. I'm in California (CA) and a lot of our plants are from the Cape area of SA - Natal Plum, Cape Honeysuckle, Gerbera Daisy, Plumbago White and Blue, Trumpet Vines like Campsis Radicans, Agapanthus Africanus (mistakenly called Lily of the Nile), Abelia, to name a few.
    I love these organizational projects you do. So very handy. It solves a lot of pesky problems like tape and glove storage.
    I have a better tip for you on the gloves. Instead of clothes pins, use curtain clips or curtain rings with clips. Easy to clip on gloves and you have a hook or ring on the other end. Matter of fact, I have a bunch in my sewing box and now know what to use them for. FYI - look into large drapery hooks that are not pokey but rounded (no pin) and these are also very handy to hang things on. I love them for curtains as they are easy to remove and wash.
    Your magnet plate was very exciting to see because it solves a problem I had with drill and driver bits. I detest the boxes these driver bits come in. Small boxes, tight slots (made in China) and you hurt your hands fighting to get them in and out. What a pain! I gave away all my boxes. I wanted to build magnet plates to mount inside a wooden box. I bought the Neodymium magnets but could not figure out how to do this right. Recessing them is genius! Very happy I saw this. For those in the USA, Harbor Freight has large magnet strips for $2 - $5 and you just screw them into a wall panel. The protruding top lip is handy to support screwdrivers and files. No need to recess these.
    I love your projects. So useful to save space. Congrats on being sponsored! I'm using these tips in my RV as well. Making double walls in the RV kitchen to store spices and gadgets. Thank you. Dankie!

    Very nice! I am considering using some of your ideas for my system. If I could offer a few suggestions that I think would refine some of those organizers, the first would be for the pencil organizer. You might consider placing a small piece of the packing foam at the bottom of tubes that will have sharpened pencils to help preserve the tips and avoid buildup of carbon/lead. For the rag/cloth storage, you might consider finishing the inside with a high gloss/smooth finish to avoid fibers catching. Certainly not critical, but maybe a little finishing touch. Appreciate your video. 😊
