Woodworking and the use of power tools can be extremely dangerous.
The equipment and methods I use may not work for you as it does for me and by no means do I suggest that my methods of working are correct.
Therefore you should always use your equipment and power tools as instructed by the owner's manual supplied by the manufacturer.
Always use protective gear where applicable and never attempt something you are not comfortable doing.
Your shop safety is YOUR responsibility, so therefore I accept NO responsibility or liability for any injuries or accidents you may have if you attempt to do the things that I do.

The fact that so many are suggesting “tweaks” to your design shows you are a massive success - your approach makes people *think* which means you inspire people which is what YT should do.
My favorite part of your videos is how you explain your thinking process, and go over why you made the decisions that you did.
I am very thankful for the th-cam.com/users/postUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO that has been a tremendous help to me in building a perfect outdoor shed. I have been facing many challenges and difficulties for a long time, but this plan has guided me to correct the mistakes during the process. I am impressed by the projects and I express my gratitude to the creator of this collection of plans.
This was more satisfying than a fridge restock video
That would also be a great concept to use for a small kitchen that doesn’t have a lot of cabinets. I could see it used for spices, utensils, measuring cups and spoons, etc. etc. etc..
The big "aha" moment for me was when I saw how you incorporated the bearings WITH the slots you cut.... Genius. Thanks for the build video!
I have to admit that half way through I thought this is proper TH-cam project - looks impressive, but no one will actually build something like this for own use only. I was wrong. It looks really functional and makes a lot of sense for a small work room.
Great editing as well. No minutes and minutes of table saw cutting and glueing up layers of planks. Just the essence of the project.
Well done!
You must have achieved the highest scores in history for "spatial reasoning" on standardized tests.
Many of the other creators call their projects "ultimate" but they look and function like everyone else's. But this, this project truly is deserving of the word ultimate! Subscribed!
I’d buy these plans in an instant! This is a great solution for my single-car garage shop!
Our "guy" never let's us down. For he's a "Genius" of Genius's! Thank you kind Sir. We'll wait for another Gem; that comes from you. And we KNOW it will be an awesome great Gem!❤
Always a good day when I get a woodshop junkies notification!
608 bearings are cheap and widely available in the US as they are the worldwide standard for inline skates
An original design, well thought out. Now go make some bearing holders ,everyone is going to want some.cheers.🇨🇦
You should install a retaining chain from the frame to the bottom door so that those hinges aren’t in a lateral strain constantly, other than that it’s a solid build!
How the bottom door is hanging down in that angle would be my only point of critique. I would make it so it would hang down completely vertical, more ergonomic. But overall a very ingenious build by Sean.
Valid comment about the strain on the hinges.
Also, adding a couple of chains to hold the lower door horizontal would make it into a shelf that would be useful when sorting tools or using more than you can hold in one hand.
@@robt2151 that’s what I was saying more or less.
im working out of a single car garage and it is such an absolute mess, i sit down look around and just stress out, videos like this make me so hopeful i can figure out a way to make it work
I like the new tool storage but wonder if moving the panels will 'get old' in time. Absolutely want to see a video on making the tool holders. That was one of my favorites parts of your french cleat wall. Had you considered having the bottom door open to horizontally flat so that it can be used as a "staging table" when adding/removing tools? Are you giving up on your french cleat system? So glad you are back on creative workshop projects!
I worry about that. BUT, if you are limit on space, like I am, This make a load of sense keeping things where you can find them, vers hunt for them. As of now I have a similar working area and all the tools he hung are my go to and are stored all over. This would keep them right where I can get them quick AND have a home for them in the future to GET them quick.
It definitely has a home in many peoples lives. Not all, but many.
This would be great for my sewing room. I spend a fair amount of time digging around for small tools.
I just remembered another great addition to a tool storage ...... Lavels where you might have a screw or nail all by its self. In the past I've gone down the route of painting the board and marking round the tool, as well as tags on string hanging from the nails, but at the end of the day it boils down to one thing....... remembered what the missing item is!! I've done jobs that end up with tools in multiple locations as well as being in temporary tool boxes...... I've also had a wife "borrow" a tool and it just vanishes. With some sort of label system you will know exactly what is missing from your board straight away, which means looking for it is a LOT easier! I hope this helps someone and, as always, great job on both the build and the instructions on making and assembly 😊👍👍👍👍
Lots of thoughtful yet simple details in this one project, practical and inspirational for us part-time hobbyists with small shop space. You explain your project goals and design reasoning very well. Also enjoyed the cavalier disregard at 16:49 😄 I'd like to see more of your tool holder ideas, and a follow-up on the cabinet after living with it for a while.
Maybe building some drop leaf hinges to the doors adding gives you a workplace surface to use
I saw a clip of this storage unit on Pinterest. I fell in love with it! Now to find the full video, I'm looking forward to building this.
Great idea and design as always. Your videos are always inspirational. A tool holders video would be great. Seeing how another mind approaches a problem would be a amazing
Yeah, a tool holder "how to" would be good. Whenever I've tried to make any tool holders they are so bad that honestly, I would just be better off throwing everything in a bucket.
Wonderful idea, going to make one or three for my hand tools and trash the 15 toolboxes filling the storage wall of my tiny shop.
You should do the same method sliding windows do to have a way to put the doors in place. The upper rail is deeper and the door has room on the top side to slide up the door and extract it from the lower rail.
I would love a set of plans. Looks great!
How this has 56k views and not 56k likes is beyond me. What an awesome build! Thank you for sharing.
Great cabinet! I've been wanting to build a tool cabinet for my wood shop but just haven't got around to it. I think another great idea for your cabinet would be to use your bottom door as a table. You could put a small chain on each end. I know you wouldn't be able to put heavy stuff on it but it could hold your tools as you select them. Take care and GOD BLESS 🙏!
That is a very neat project. For some time I'm planning something like that for my garage but, frame wise, much easier and on larger scale.
I already have some sliding shelves in my garage and for lubrication, I used an ancient method that still in use today in some industries, which is wax.
I would use a metal strip under the bearings because soon, with the weight of the tools, you will have a groove where the bearings run.
I like the idea of the metal strip under the bearings. I also always use wax to lubricate on wood but I've found an even better option.... Butchers block wax! It's a combination of Bees wax and Mineral oil which goes on easy, especially in a narrow groove like that.
One of the best ideas, execution of idea and originality for a workshop on TH-cam 😁 well done
One of the comments below was to leave off the doors to get quicker access to the tools. Maybe add more tools to the outside of the doors for even more storage. 🤪 I like it as it is personally. Well done.
I am not handy by any stretch of the imagination but you can see when something is well thought out. 👏This is awesome
That is not amazing, not awesome, not good job… but that’s simply PERFECT. No much no less… just PERFECT!
I love it
Hello from Sicily
Awsome idea when you are limited on door swing
That's a great storage solution liked the addition of all the 3d printed parts for storage
That was beautiful. I had my doubts but you redeemed yourself 😂
This is great way to store and care for one's tools . Everything stored , cared for and it takes up only a tiny space and no floor space is used up by a trolley . Wel done !!! And very motivating .
This didn't make much sense until the end when it took all the tools and more, Wow, impressive build.
Basically a toolbox on the wall. Efficient, effective and it looks great. I think plans - in a general format with out the specifics of where tools go - would server you and your base well. Looking forward to future videos!
This is one of your best projects. I am always impressed with how effective your designs are. I also have a small shop. I really appreciate your approach, thoughtfulness and engineering. Well done
Thats just awesome! the swing out door for the extra space is a great idea too
Multi layer respects shop volume (most shop storage concepts, like much thinking generally, are 1 layer deep). Tiny shops don't have luxurious wall space. Well thought out. Plans & parts links.
Nice idead. I hope you added some holes (opening) in those slots so dust and garabge can fall out. 🙂
the only thing I would add, is a bit of cord or chain, to support the bottom door when open, so you can use it as a surface when open so you can use both hands when organizing or retrieving tools
the plans and a tool holders video would be great :)
Wow, amazing. Great project and very inspiring. Add your logo to the front door.
Good job, Jean!
Love sliding vertical drawers. I have been envisioning similar but 8 ft tall :-)
Another great video and well executed tool storage solution. Plans would be great please.
A great video! I would really like to see the plans. You mention that you have a plans website. Would you please send me the link to that ? I am in the US. Thanks!
Sorry! That was meant as a general comment. I’m new to this!
This might be my favorite kind of video. Please do a follow up with the tool holders. 😊
Briljant. Now I have to build one too.
This was frikkin' AWESOME!
I cannot fathom how much knowledge you have accumulated over the years to make this project's process look so casual but you have my utmost respect from the UK!
Every aspect of this construction looked perfect. All I need now is a garage lol.
Got a new sub : ]
Thats a really smart build! Looking forward to the upcoming videos! I am currently trying to organize my own single car garage workshop so your timing is perfect :D
Brilliant design so compact with great access plans would be much appreciated and thanks so much for this ride your taking us on it’s always well edited and interesting to watch
Friggin brilliant
I have an unfortunately shallow garage I want to use for both mechanical and wood work. It poses 2 issues. First one is there's not a pile of room when the car is in to be worked on so the usual tool box in front of the hood is a bit of a problem. The second is dual purpose shops get dust on everything exposed. Your project just solved both! Amazing. Great video.
Plans! Plans! Plans! We want plans!
Holy cow that’s awesome!
That bearing holder is a cool idea…. Smart choice
If you have design plans for any of your assemblies, it would be a great idea to add them to your site. I have watched many of your builds and having the plan to review while doing so really gives an engineer like me the whole picture no matter what the dimensions turn out to be when creating for another space. Thanks
Like everything you make the doors are awesome. I think I’d prefer no doors to get and see tools easier. Looks amazing and maybe if it’s not in a shop space the doors make it look clean and organized. In a shop I’d be hanging stuff on the top sides and bottom of the case. The additional surface area gained by using dimensions off the wall are great.
That's the best storasge unit i've seen so far. Well done. So much into such a small space. Necessity breeds invention.
At first I thought, nah prefer to use a normal cleats with sone nice tool holders as a few nice designs on You Tube. (Glimpse in Side). Especially considering us wood workers can be a little vain and like to show the tools we have? 😂😂But after seeing how this turned out, would definitely buy the plans if you have them in metric. Fantastic use of space and looks great on the wall. What I also like about it is should you ever rearrange or move, then it’s a simple case of just lifting the whole box off the wall with all your tools inside and all in one go. Genius albeit heavy. But if done right french cleats can take huge amounts of weight so no problems there! Excellent 👍
That is a brilliant storage cabinet.
Brilliant! Would like to have some plans, please. Also have a single garage workshop. Your planters video gave a sight of where you are. I am from CT originally, 3 anchor bay/Green Point. Will be back for a visit in January 24.
Too many videos are titled "ultimate" when they're not really but your design is quite clever. You solved some of the potential weak points such as the rollers brilliantly. I may not use your exact design but it does sparks some ideas for my small shop. Thanks for the inspriation!
Brilliant! And beautiful.
Just came across your channel. This is an excellent design and it's a bonus that you are South African!
Video about tool holders, please!
Great work!
Awesome project and vid, brother! Complete yet succinct explanations. If you haven’t put the plans in the description yet please do!
I would like plans for this cabinet storage. Thank you
Jean, you have to make a video for the tools and the holders otherwise this video gives us the impression that it is not complete, also it will give people different ideas as to how to make the different tool holders and possibly some designs that we may not have thought about!!! As always buddy 💯% 👍 🇬🇧.
To add lubrication to the aluminium plate you can use candle wax or 'paraffine'
Clever dude. :)
Great project. Please let me know when the plans are available.
Wow - that's great. It makes my OCD so very happy. Great vids!!
Wow, Brilliant, Amazing, Stupendous, First Class. I'd love to get some plans please, this is just what I'm looking for.
I love the style of your videos. It's a mix of woodworking ASMR and well-narrated cuts. Keep up the great work, looking forward to more of the shop rebuild!
Thank you very much!
Excellent!, the way you explain how you develop this project, it is not a common way but it is very creative, it is very fun and satisfying to work like this, your video is inspiring to do intelligent projects, thank you very much.
Absolutely mint 👍👍 What a great design and build!
fantastic idea. I would love to get the plans please.
Hell yes, I would really appreciate plans for this.
Candlewax, rub some candlewax on both the ally strip, and inside them grooves. How? Cut the candlestick to just fit in the slot, twist sideways nd slide. Cheap and easy. Works on drawers too 👍🏻
Have only watched the intro and know this is going to be a great project. Your videos are so good - I can’t believe you don’t have more subscribers and views. Yours is a must watch channel for home woodworkers.
Love to see plans for this project!!
Brilliant design Jean! Excellently planned and executed. The perfect tool store option for a single garage!
Dealing with the same issues but horizontally, in lab bench drawers. You've done a good job at addressing access.
The bearing mechanism is inspired! I’d love a copy of the 3D printing file
The STL can be downloaded for free on my plans website. The link is in the pinned comment.
@@WoodshopJunkies thank you so much - for the reply and the free plans!
I like your use of French cleats.
looks brilliant, congrats.
Plans please and tool holder creation!!
Simply awesome. I would definitely buy the plans for this project. And a video on the tool holders would be great as well. Love your ideas and your videos. Can't wait for the all-in-one bench 2.0
Bought the plans, 51 pages? Very nice. Hope to get started tonight.
Hello! I just discovered your channel this morning while searching for clever storage solutions in my small space. I appreciate all the great ideas and easy to follow instructions you provide. I subscribed instantly, and I’m happy to see you’ve uploaded another video today!
Ditto what's already been said about your ingenuity and thoughtful filming/editing. Just bought the plans. Thanks! And keep up the great work
Brilliant idea and execution. You really should patent it.👏🏼
Just a suggestion to what you did.
I would have put the aluminium guides on the back for aesthetic reasons as I'm an architect. The other suggestion would be to make the upper guide slot deeper so you can remove the panels. You may well have done that though so if you did, good thinking.
Plans would be amazing, that storage unit is amazing!!!
Awesome cabinet!! definitely want plans.
@WoodshopJunkies it's a very clever idea...if you added a set of braces to the inside of the lower door it could be an additional counter top for multiple pieces you need to drill next to the drill press...
Unless you plan on putting something else under it you can make that cordless drill holders under it
